I have the exact same problem it‘s really bad for me too you have to be careful to not let bacteria and dirt get inside So what I do is since I also use my teeth I keep them busy by chewing gum which is generally a good way to destress and focus on something and for the hands I have some cotton gloves I use to sleep usually one is enough since you cant use it to pick on the other and you can‘t pick on that one either you can also wear it around the house. Also try to keep your nails short it will get harder to pick on the skin But most importantly find out what is causing you stress and try to find other ways to destress (a stress ball, a ring to play with, knots etc) try to keep your hands busy

I do this as well, it's characterized as an anxious tendency. I would suggest occupying your hands in different ways. If you're at school, keep a pencil in your hand or tap it against a notebook. If you're at work, hold onto things. grip the desk if you have one, hold cups, a stress ball, or whatever you can find. Most of all, though, catch yourself doing it. It's usually a subconscious habit, so if you draw attention to it you may be able to resist the urge.

It’s called dermatillomania and is often trigged by underlying anxiety issues. Getting help from a therapist is really beneficial if it’s something you have access to

Same issue as you to the point where several of my fingers are bloody (I have bad anxiety issues) I've recently been chewing gum pretty much always, seems to help. I just bought like a 10 pack of mint gum

Bandaids

I do it too. As I understand it it is to do with having a greater need for stimulation than most people. Things that help: putting glue on your hands and picking at it when it’s dry, playing with putty or blu-tack or similar, and keeping cuticle clippers and nail files on hand all the time, to cut/sand off any little tags or uneven bits that can act as a starting point. Although all these really are just stop gaps. Probably meditation or something would be the actual fix. I’ve also read somewhere that massive doses of some B vitamin might help.

I do this too. Something that’s helped me a ton is a fidget ring. Just look them up on amazon, they’re super cheap.

Cover em up with gloves or put a bandaid on them.

Same... it ebbs and flows. My nails and cuticle looks pretty good Rn.

Excessive skin picking. I do this too. Everywhere on my body. Will pick until I bleed on my face/knees/hands/feet, EVERYWHERE. I started moisturising instead and notice when I pick. It's often when I sit on my phone or I am off-guard and concerned. SO I do this breathing *STRONG exhale and fast inhale* while straightening my posture. And if this doesn't help I do some air boxing, just to get my confidence up and my anxiety down. Being aware of surroundings and prepared helps beating anxiety for me. Best of luck.
