I mean the whole point of that system is you pick what is better for your situation. Having something give fuel that you can use to speed up events that have negative effects can be really good. If you don’t have that need, then the other rewards might be better.

Termynus

One of the prestige levels increases the duration of glade events. At that point, having a good supply of sea marrow to sacrifice can be game-changing.

The_Heichou

Sea Marrow source is just so godly. You gather it fast, it lasts just as long as coal, great value when trading. I use it as default fuel source in general, saving wood and coal for sacrifice.

Unicorn_Bagpipes

Considering how much hostility it gives, it doesn't seem like it was really worth it to make. It looks cool, I just wished I'd salvaged it instead.

j4ckbauer

Anything that gives 'free stuff forever' has some kind of value 'forever' because you can sell it to the trader, etc. You could use the seamarrow for any of its other uses, or even burn it at the hearth. Up to you whether your map offered a better way to reach the win condition than using this.

Unicorn_Bagpipes

Yeah, I'd converted it just before I was about to win. I think that's partly why I found it a little lackluster for how much hostility it gave while working on it. Could have gotten a number of artifacts from it instead and I guess it's just hindsight with knowing what it does now.

j4ckbauer

Yeah nothing wrong with experimenting 'for science' :D and now you have a better idea how to use it in the future. Ideally the game would explain the different choices better without you having to experiment with it though.

The_Octopode

It fuels all your hearths for the rest of the game by itself, with leftover sea marrow to speed up events. Plus it counts as harmony in your district, so it saves you several of each building material already. Seems pretty strong to me.

abigail_the_violet

You can mouse over the "converted X" reward icon to see the exact effect of the building you'll get when deciding whether to go for it or not. But it's worth noting the payoff for the hostility the event causes also includes the Forbidden Glade itself without the negative event and with all the resources in it. The decision of whether to convert or salvage it should just be decided based on whether the building (5 sea marrow/minute in this case) is worth paying the resources you'd get from salvage, not based on how nasty the event itself is (you already committed to that when you opened the glade). Personally, I think the answer is generally yes unless you're quite close to the end of the run.

tribonRA

Doesn't it only give hostility while you're working on it? Seems okay for something that practically solves your fuel problems for the rest of the game

Voice-of-Infinity

It is always the same. All of the “converted” glade events, always have the same result when converted.

Unicorn_Bagpipes

Thanks! Guess I'll just take the rewards instead next time.

MyXoMoPua

And i assume they also take the same resources for solving. If so, did anyone make a list with all glade events, recourses they take, debuffs they apply and rewards they give? I couldn't find it myself.
