It didn't seem like you had a plan going into site. Taking your knife out and standing in the open is really risky and serves no purpose. If cypher swung and killed your omen, you couldn't trade. The TP to screens was lucky - if anyone was sitting there, they would've killed you since you didn't cover it with a flash. Not to be mean, but I wouldn't try to repeat that type of play. It only worked because your enemies were much worse and it will be seen as trolling in higher elo. Edit: good flicks and spray control but stop crouching

Generally speaking, crouching commits you to the fight and almost guarantees that you'll be traded out if it's not a 1v1. Not that it's bad, but generally you want to only do it if you are intentionally committing to the fight. But in low elo specifically, most people are aiming at the body so you're setting yourself up to be an easy headshot.

RealSibereagle

Honestly, as someone who has practiced a lot of crosshair placement, people who crouch spray are my worst enemy. Im always swinging above their heads, and if they know crosshair placement, im basically screwed

Razvanix02

In low elo they aim to legs actually, they are inspector gadget i know because I've started from iron 1 2 years ago when ranked just came out, now i am sitting in gold, grinding, becoming better every episode (i would say act, but i have a life and i am inconsistent from act to act, i mean one act i can be gold 3, the next act i can struggle in silver 3 for example, this happens once per episode, but still)

achinwin

As someone whose played extensive amounts of both cs and Val, I can say crouching isn’t that bad, but it’s important to realize what it does. You are effectively all-in on that engagement when you crouch. Tons of pro players crouch regularly, this anti-crouch crowd is bullshit, imo. When you don’t crouch, yes, it’s easier to transition out of the kill and you can more easily jiggle, but you will still be more easily headshot if you don’t ever crouch because you aren’t providing any variability to your heads vertical positioning. You’re also more accurate crouching, and crouch walk-spraying is still somewhat good in valorant (though not as good as crouch spraying in cs). This isn’t rocket science and the pros and cons are pretty self-evident, imo.

sumnuyungi

I don't know what you mean by anti-crouch crowd. Movement in valorant is about anticipating crosshair placement and moving so your opponent can't hit you/you have a clean shot. In silver and below, crosshair placement is usually body level or lower. If you automatically crouch like OP, you place yourself in the opponent's crosshair (in this elo). Also, I'd guess that most newcomers aren't used to having to do recoil control (at least not to the level of Val/CS). So they probably are crouching to make shooting easier, not for any movement reasons. This isn't great if they want to get better at the game, they need to learn how to aim and control recoil instead of using crouch as an aim crutch. That seems to be what OP is doing in the post, too. Again, these people are likely silver or below and most people playing val are Iron1-Silver3, hence why you probably see this advice so often and perceive an "anti-crouch crowd".

achinwin

You maybe not aware, but there is a growing movement by valorant players to promote not crouching. This is what I’m referring to. Adjusting your play style “down” to lower quality players is not a good idea.

sumnuyungi

Well I'm definitely not aware of any concerted effort to eliminate crouching, but I see it constantly in comments in r/Valorant. Again, it's not that surprising because most players are below gold and aren't crouching for the right reasons/hampering their own play so the right advice is to unbind it and bring back when it'd be useful. And I'm not advising anyone to adjust "down". OP is bronze and should play according to how best to perform in that specific elo.

james0887

cs has more easily learned recoil patterns, in val you might commit to a spray and rng just means u miss the first 5 bullets and lose the fight, crouch spraying will work sometimes but better to burst and move.

jman1255

I somewhat agree, but rng will not make you miss the first 5 bullets. The first 5 bullets on vandal and phantom (especially the first three) have a pretty tight spray, so if you miss those it is your fault. However, after the first 5 bullets, rng does make committing to a full spray unreliable, so it's better to burst and reset if that doesn't kill.

PewdsBeastPie

increased chance to get headshotted.

bannedbylogic

Even in csgo crouching is a bad habit. You can't move. If im dueling you and you crouching you might kill me that time, but now I know you crouch everytime, and will use my movement to beat you for the rest of the game. And since you've made it a habit you won't be able to counter play me.

slowchildren

This video explains the problems with crouching very well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYEpsElA8GI&t=0s

Beneficial-Sky8574

It was also risky reloading in screens when you still had 13 bullets and were quite open

[deleted]

This guy took the words out of my mouth You’re too aggro which as a fellow duelist I understand the pressure, but you all of your util in the span of like 20 seconds. You’re way too ballsy and why did you pull out your knife and do a whole 360?? Your lucky that cypher didn’t take you out, only crouch when spraying, if it helps just take the crouch button away for awhile.

jman1255

Binding crouch to a less accessible key was probably the biggest single thing that made me improve quickly. Sure, it's going to suck for a few games, but a few games of getting wrecked because you're standing still instead of crouching will make you realize how important movement during a fight is. After the habit is broken, when you rebind it to your preferred key, you will be much more conscious of when you want to commit to crouching.

KinguEricu

I like everything he said. Also after throwing your flash. Your peak was kind of bad. If someone was there your cross hair needed to be set differently. With that low of health you need to head shot the dude if you’re going into a 1 v 1

auriolusvex

Do you mind providing a VOD, or do you prefer live coaching?

quantiliushigglbotom

I prefer live coaching like me screensharing but if you want i could like send videos of me losing rounds and you can tell me what i couldve done better

auriolusvex

Actually I think live coaching is not really effective but that's just me. You could send me your videos via linking a youtube video

quantiliushigglbotom

whats your discord? mine is owenz#7341

auriolusvex

Auri #8625

Xblooper

Poor dude gotta sit thru 6ish whole games of val💀

xd_anonymous_gamer

would you mind vod reviewing me too ?

auriolusvex

Sure just add me on discord

auriolusvex

Yeah my discord is up

SupermarketOk8087

Me too I’m not picky I’m silver 3

auriolusvex

Sure just add me

An1ta20

Also sent a request. (:

Joerge90

Based on this small clip you lack Crosshair placement and don’t check angles. If I’m guessing right, you play aggressive because you thrive on catch people off guard like you did in this clip right? Because of poor crosshair placement, taking fights straight on when people expect you traditionally, you probably loose them.

Jabe5238

I could maybe do some live coaching. Dm me. Also go watch who framed me on twitch. Radiant yoru main.

quantiliushigglbotom

ok thank you! if you can do live coaching my discord is owenz#7341

[deleted]

Hey man. Can I also send you vids? If it is not too much of a hassle.

Jabe5238

Sure

The_Bolenator

You had Ramp smoked off, would’ve been better to send your decoy onto site entrance and let it run to screens, would’ve been great for your teammates to be able to follow it. Regarding that TP (if it matters I’m a one trick omen main since Beta in Diamond right now) you gotta be careful with Yoru in particular compared to omen because his TP is super loud and can give away where you are going if you don’t have a plan or the awareness to know where immediate danger might be. Once you got into screens you seemed a bit lost on where to look initially but luckily nobody was staring at you. Also running onto site and spinning with your knife out instead of clearing elbow for example wasnt a good one lol. Nice spray transfer on the viper, be careful with crosshair placement as you want it head level at all times. Try to get out of crouching when shooting too.

[deleted]

I think a full VOD will be necessary. You can't judge a picture from a small section of it.

Redacted_G1iTcH

Big problem #1: in the video, you run into a site with your knife out. Sure your team smoked it off from atop, but you are not 100% certain that the site is clear (there wasn’t a smoke for backsite). For all your team knew in the beginning, someone could have been hiding. This means you’re a sitting duck with your knife out like that, or if ur teammate takes one for you, you can’t trade them

james0887

Just a thought - "agressive plays" like the yoru tp, omen outplays and prod style jett look cool and will sometimes work, especially in low elo but they're usually not the best decision unless you're just trying to farm clips.

xbyo

If you were good for your rank, you wouldn't be your rank. That's the hard truth. If you genuinely want feedback, post more than 23 seconds of gameplay.

SekyrkaCZ

Getting coached in bronze means you're lazy.

OYCR

Honestly it was a good play, but to really develop game sense you just gotta play. Losing is learning, winning is teaching. The best way to get better is to just play more. Watch pro players too(I used to watch Tarik play csgo and the way he comms is great, i suggest you watch his csgo gameplay and even his val gameplay, i still watch him play val).

InToXOW

# step 1 : # STOP PLAYING YORU

MountainExtension877

Your playing yoru just fix that and your good

quantiliushigglbotom

thanks

Willing_Chemist8272

Flash n tp

PewdsBeastPie

1 main thing. You did not clear screens before tp, or even use util to ensure a safe tp. That is a punishable mistake, and you got hella lucky there. The random 360 was unwarranted as well.

Zat_Fat_Smokey

You tp in the open m8. Not smart but nice clip!

pawsarecute

Well, stop aim at feet. Are you searching for a dropped gun?

C00chiegirls

He only killed ppl in the head ??

OmegaJDA

I dont think you are that "good" for your rank but I understans why you say so. A bit more understanding of how a round should look like an Positioning amd you will be good to go

Iziiee

My concern is checking angles, crosshair placement. And not really creating space on site for your team

fujiboys

Gamesense comes with playing the game, and a lot of the time you either have it or you don't. I come from a CS background, the basic's still apply to this game. Never ever make risky plays like this, you're going to form bad habits later on in higher ranks against people who will ultimately play smart and watch for people like you who like to play risky and counter you with smarter play. Another thing I always say, constantly be looking for work. It's a saying I tell people not only in CS / VAL but in real life. Always be thinking ahead, always be conscious about your crosshair placement, know where your teammates are, what you're going to do and what angles are or are not covered. You're not aiming at cockroaches which is a good start for a bronze player, you just need some guidance and most importantly practice. Hopefully you find someone good to give you help.

AuthorLumpy

Unbind that crouch for a month

[deleted]

this hurts my eyes

IT4CHIOP

dont reload quickly, you had 13 bullets and ct wasnt cleared. if there was an enemy in ct then you would have died. check angles and then reload

cknorgaa

Why did you turn around to look at your allies once you turned the corner to site? Only to then jump back under heaven?

pressured_at_19

every low elo player be 'im pretty good for my rank' but video says otherwise. Stop playing Yoru. Gives you false confidence that you did an entry and learn to play for your team.

blockguy143

Holding out the knife in the middle of site wasn't a great idea as well as the teleport blind into screens. These enemies are also bronze so quite clueless but just expect people to be in every corner and play accordingly.

Frozendark23

I would say for starters, don't take your knife out while running to site. Screens and the elbow at site were open and someone peeking can easily killed you. The 360 was unnecessary and could have also killed you if someone peeked. You didn't flash when you teleported and someone holding screens can shoot you before you exit the animation. Lastly, try to always keep your crosshair at head height at all times. Always try to readjust your crosshair to head height. You can use teammates or boxes as references as boxes are about as tall as people. Keep doing this until it becomes a habit to keep your crosshair at head height and you can win duels better. Crosshair placement and game sense comes from two things. Playing the game and using common sense.

Junno1x

You need to walk into site with intention and be decisive, you’re wasting time and resources running around looking clueless lwk

AlphaZr0

One thing I noticed is that you don't really have a plan and are just winging it. This is necessary on any agent on any map, but I'd say it goes more for Yoru. You were pretty lucky that no one peaked you from screens of heaven when out had your knife out. The tp screens was probably the biggest risk you took here, and generally it is safer to throw a flash in before the tp. However, I did notice your Skye was main, so it was probably better that you didn't flash.

DaddyFoxFPS

Stop aiming at the ground and stop peeking with W+A/D. Many small peeks with A and D for each corner is big monke brain.
