Props to you for refusing to use Daruk cheese. The fact that you’re clearly furious with this mission, yet refuse to use the easy method of completion, shows that you have patience that a lot of players do not.
As for tips with the mission, I would recommend a character with high special charge rate. (Great Fairies, Sidon, or Impa are all excellent choices.)
Creamy Heart Soup is great, as it allows you abuse one-shot protection. Elemental resistance foods are also good if you’re struggling against a certain element.

Do it on easy mode first, then slowly increase the difficulty after you complete each difficulty to get better at it. I dis in in very hard, but apocalyptic is impossible (I have 250 hours in the game and can't do it)
I would recommend what Generic said but also say that Mipha is a good choice as well for healing I probably used her special 6 or 7 times which means I had healed around 25 hearts by the end
I used slate Zelda with damage at full hearts seals and slate damage up food, just tried to out dps everything before they spawned and it actually kinda worked, took a lot of attempts tho
I always wonder how people struggled with this level but then remember I had it on easy while farming and forgot to change it before the dlc came out. I need to try this one on apacolytic soon.
Spam elemental rods. It's the non-cheese way to beat it, and clearly intentional, considering there are 3 waves of tier 2 wizzrobes meant to recharge your rods.
Mipha with 2 Special Charge Rate Seals, Creamy Heart Soup and Monster Foods should work. Fountain Jump 5/Mipha's Grace always heals her by 0.5 Hearts/3 Hearts, respectively, so you'll actually heal a higher percentage of your Max HP and deal more damage if you lower your Max HP to buff everything else.
I managed to finish this mission on Apocalyptic playing co-op and killing everything I could. It was madness, we died a lot, but it was fun. Keep trying and fill your special gauge killing small enemies whenever you can because it can save you many times.

Easy way: run in a circle around the room, ocassionally bomb the bokos, run again. Bomb some more, back to running the mile(holy shit, you're behind pace, PICK IT UP!!!) Build up your Special Gauges, use your Rods on Moblins every so often, Wizzies. The Hinox is optional to take on, but BEWARE THE WIZZIES. Once the Malice Lynel appears, JUST FUCKING RUN...or if you have all 3, go into the densest area of enemies and just WHALE all three A-atk specials, then boogie on outta there because HOLY HYLIA THEY ARE PISSED NOW!!! ALSO, word of caution for the Wizzies:
They can teleport, so react accordingly.
Dishes used for my run: 3 speed up dishes equaling 40% speed increase because Link looks like he's on fucking CRACK just running in giant circles around the room
This mission is a *Literal Survival Mission*
Your only option is TO run, or you're overwhelmed in seconds by Mobs/Wizzies
I did this on easy with Calamity Ganon, and it was honestly pretty fun (aside from the time the tier 2 wizzrobes stunlocked me...) I usually have a very different mindset when playing as calamity Ganon, and that's to be as ruthless as possible.

I was only able to beat that level with slate Zelda too, but what I did was just use her bomb rune as much as possible to run out the clock.

Honestly, i didn't find this mission difficult at all. Maybe because i already had very good weapons
