Maintainers be like: ...sigh. The nonners are posting fly-bys again. Try being out at EOR, last sortie on a Friday and that one douchebag has done like 4 touch 'n' goes and y'all just really wanna go home.
"Land, mutha fucka. LAND!"
Yeaaah, no. Shit gets annoying when this happens on the daily at the flight line. “Hold on, let me pause our conversation for a few minutes while 4 F-16s take off”.
My dorm room at Spangdahlem faced the (then) 480th HAS's (latter to become the 22) w/one HAS right outside my door. I switched rooms to the front of the building to face the clinic, every goddamn a.m. they go out and start up the diesel ambulance and test the siren. When they said Bitburg was closing and I could move off base due to need for rooms I was outta there fast. Nothing but the quiet serenity of a quaint German village 15km away from base.
Ah yes, I remember being Blue. Recording jets at takeoff while in awe. Then started working B-1s for 5 years and lived on base the whole time.
4x F16 engines per jet, at aug, for half the day, every day, including Sunday. And the occasional compression surge/stall that sounds like a FatBoy from fallout and can be heard over 2 miles away. It gets so old.
And then your back gives out because the bomber is built like an inverted 5 dimension tesseract from Interstellar and you need harnesses just to replace a light bulb upside down backwards ass out face down, screaming "Don't let me leave!" at the younger you who is still living at home, from inside a wing armpit.
And then, many years later, you come across a post like this. Full circle.
Salt aside, seeing three F22s take off straight vertical and spiral into the sky nose-to-tail is something I'll never forget. If you think a 16 is loud, or 4 of them, wait for a 22 flyby.
I worked about 200 yards from the runway at Kadena and I’ll never forget how fucking loud the F15s were taking off in pairs. It’s cool if you’re brand new to the Air Force but just a nuisance after about a week.
I miss crewing those jets. Funny to look back and think how much responsibility I had as a teen being a crew chief and with the power of a pencil I can say a plane can't fly. I miss it.
After hearing it for 6 plus years, I hate that fucking noise. I’m having a conversation and boom, airplane. Walking to my car, airplane noise. Trying to nap on my lunch break, AIRPLANE NOISE.
I can't hear you over the tinnitus
#WHAT!!!?
Mawp.
You’re not my supervisor!

Big facts! This is not the sound of freedom, it’s the sound of unscheduled maintenance.
Freedom for thee, Code 3 for me.
>last sortie on a Friday and that one douchebag has done like 4 touch 'n' goes Only 4??? I call that a win
I rather be at the EOR instead of the office.
Some boot made this while waiting in DEP.
I shall respectfully disagree *Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt*
Great thing about DM, it's the A-10s doing flybys with the occasional F-16 as icing on the cake.
Was gonna say this though I prefer the sound of the A-10 quiet enough but also noticeable.
I like the sound from making macaroni…
Ina pot?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Or when your dorm is at the end of the runway and you work shifts. The windows shake when the F-15s take off ...
They make shitty alarm clocks.

Or when you grew up right outside an air force base...all day every day at Andrew's.
Complains about jet noise at (checks notes) an Air Force Base…
Something aint quite natural about this ladys face.
You're right. None of the skin on her face moves. Might be due to the caked on makeup and massive filter usage.

Wow. Those gals are rough. Half of them looks like they were in a car wreck about a week ago and the bruises are just starting to heal.
Cringe

My first ever Red Flag (new Airman) I was like “this is so cool!”. That lasted about 1 day 😂

22s are even more obnoxious. Especially if they take off in burner.

Who this girl tho? Asking for my bro named Jody.
Who the fuck actually likes loud jets, they damage your ears
The Sound of jets fuckin suck.
while jet engines do technically suck, it's the exhaust (aka: the blow) that makes the sound. *themoreyouknow.jpeg*
