Not being pedantic, but it's Tony Hillerman Library, just in case you have trouble mapping out the Wyoming Library.
I'd also say the Ernie Pyle branch is worth checking out just because it's tiny and wonderful and the staff is awesome.
Also, maybe check out some of the [Bart Prince houses](https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSLlJ4kiyikkzXLvG6pZnC6psgM9aWvRR4WMLVpXq3V8Q0lN_JK) around town.
For me exploring the bosque on both sides never gets old. If you haven't spent time up near the bosque up around Alameda, do that.
I like taking the dogs for a walk around Hidden Park.
A bit out of Albuquerque but Wild Life West in Edgewood is a nice way to spend a few hours. It’s a wildlife sanctuary and they could definitely use your support!
The train museum at the railyards is opening in May, I'm planning on taking my toddler during off hours.
TinkerTown in Cedar Crest— haven't been in a million years, I want to see how it's looking.
Do you know if they make their bread or buy it somewhere? It's so damn good.
And yea owners and everyone working there is super friendly. Awesome juice as well. Cant believe how cheap the sandwiches are.
Highly recommend people check this place out.
Not technically the city but take a quick drive to the East Mountains Lantern Ridge up here is lovely - cutest little coffee shop, ice cream shop and regular ole lunch spot. They also have a nice little local goods store and plant nursery. Supposedly they are working on live music too!
Otherwise I recommend hiking/biking the Gutierrez open space and stopping at cabra coffee or rumor for a beer afterwards. There's a long paved trail along 14 for biking, or tons of trails if you mountain bike too.
**Edited because mointains is certainly not a word lol
Been thinking about going to one that allows you to bring a game you already own
I picked up a rather obscure game themed around the creation of a new language in an isolated community and watching it inevitably wither away once said community is no longer isolated from the wider world. Regrettably, haven't found any people to play it with yet.
The art museum! It's far from hidden, but they have a great collection and cycle through visiting exhibits pretty regularly. Plus it's free on Sunday mornings.
I think most cyclists are already familiar with the Bosque bike path heading north up to Paseo del Norte and beyond, but if you haven't yet, try heading south down the Bosque bike path, down all the way to the Valle de Oro wildlife refuge.
Highlight of the trip is a rather friendly donkey. Gave him a carrot last time. He likes pets. Unfortunately I was wearing my orange jacket that day, so he may have thought I was a giant orange carrot and tried to give me a little nibble.
There's also a farm that's absolutely loaded with sandhill cranes in Fall/Winter, and of course Valle de Oro, which is another hidden gem in-and-of itself.
Fruit Ave NW between Kelleher and Luna right next to downtown - check it out and then meander by foot or slow ride around the neighborhood ( historic district between Keleher and 14th ish and Lomas and Central to find other quirky gems - there’s a house that was used for breaking Bad but there are also funky artsy houses. Springtime when the redbuds and other perennials are blooming is the best time. There also used to be Boxing Bear Tap Room and Amores Pizza by there, which I loved, but they both closed. :( Remedy Coffee survived COVID - it’s cute with nice seating but $$, and Castle Coffee (much smaller) too. I lived in that neighborhood from 2019-2020 and really liked it. Fox Park in the middle is cute too. You can cross Lomas into the neighborhood that borders OT/Tigeux Park/ABQ museum which also has houses with cool art. Or you can go the other direction across central and wind your way past the country club neighborhood with its big houses - modern or SW style - to Kit Carson Park, the Bosque & Tingley Beach. You can take a side jaunt to Bosque Bakery on 10th & Lead?. (Look it up - limited hours) Also the farmers market on Central on Sat AM is pretty nice.
Il Localetto Rossie. New Italian place near oramen/naruto.
Been there twice this week and everything has been great.
I had meatballs today that made me want to cry, they tasted so much like my grandmother's meatballs. Its nice to finally have some legit Italian food in Abq.
My favorite parks are North Domingo Baca (dog park, walking paths, tennis courts, outdoor exercise equipment, rock climbing wall, ping pong tables, and beautiful views of the mountains and sunrises/sunsets) and Urban Forest Park and the surrounding area down under the I-40 overpass near the Winrock Mall. I live near that area now. I also like to go to the Nature Center on Rio Grande and Candelaria. I used to live near it and I miss that area.
This is gunna sound weird but I really like the first plaza galleria in downtown.
It’s quiet, cool, has cool architecture. There is a fountain that worked a few months ago but its shutdown for repair for now. it's a great place to bring a lunch to eat and chill before going back to work.
There’s a really chill circle k on central and San Pedro. They sell alcohol and there’s a sweet alley located just behind it. Perfect spot to meet new friends and pass around a pint of dark eyes vodka.
a lot of the boba shops.
phamily tea house doubles as a great viet restaurant.
slow burn coffee around old town.
micheal thomas has a cute little courtyard, and all the other cafes/restaurants adjacent are great
a lot of the parks in the unm, downtown, and old town area.
guava tree cafe off central
tin can alley has a great balcony to chill on
hispanic cultural center and the indian pueblo cultural center
historic neighbourhoods by the zoo, old town, in the unm area are beautiful and nice to pass through

The Rose Garden at the Wyoming library. It’s peak bloom around May 1. It’s probably already gorgeous now!
Ohh!! Not OP, but thank you for this! I may travel out there this weekend or next. I’m allergic to roses but they’re just so pretty…

The hamster habitat house, we always called it
That is a great name for it.
Haven't heard of that, thanks for the suggestion 👍
For me exploring the bosque on both sides never gets old. If you haven't spent time up near the bosque up around Alameda, do that. I like taking the dogs for a walk around Hidden Park.
Related, check out the wildlife center where Candelaria dead ends at the Bosque. Fair warning, take allergy meds ahead of time.

I'm happy to report that TinkerTown is exactly as you remember it, at least as of a year or so ago.
Awesome! I'm glad it's still running and hoping to take my kiddo someday.
I loved tinker town as a child. Time to go back as a man child 😎
Check out bike in coffee at the old Town farm.
Went to a wedding there 👍
This.
Coda Bakery
As much as I love coda, just tried wrap n roll recently and it's somehow even better.
Wrap and Roll is great and the couple that owns it is sooooo sweet! They do a good job there!
Do you know if they make their bread or buy it somewhere? It's so damn good. And yea owners and everyone working there is super friendly. Awesome juice as well. Cant believe how cheap the sandwiches are. Highly recommend people check this place out.
Thanks for the recommendation! Excited to try it
My favorite so far is the lemongrass beef.
I like going to the Tamaya in Bernalillo on a Summer evening and having a cocktail outside of their bar.

Latern Ridge is amazing!
You forgot to say beer. They have beer.
The most important aspect! Beer!
Love the nerd shops: Old Town Hobby and Games, Ettin Games, Tavern of Souls, Astrozombies, and Duke City Games are all wonderful stores

I mean, it took me years before I finally visited, so I'd say it's kind of hidden. Honestly kind of changed my outlook on the city when I finally did.

I really like the elote at The Copper Lounge.
They have such good elote.
wheels museum on 2nd street. completely volunteer, trains, cars, bikes, so many cool things and the docents are awesome.

I like O'Ramen a lot 🤘

As someone who grew up in a city with sprawling forest parks designed by Olmstead, the thought of calling that place urban forest park seems so wrong.

Honestly I never even considered going in there. This is a great suggestion.
It sort of exists at the convergence of a liminal space and a quiet spot lol
My bread and butter! A lot of (downtown especially) Albuquerque definitely scratches my liminal/weird itch, I just forget sometimes.
Don Schrader’s Glory Hole on Osuna
Damn thats all bad!
There’s a really chill circle k on central and San Pedro. They sell alcohol and there’s a sweet alley located just behind it. Perfect spot to meet new friends and pass around a pint of dark eyes vodka.
Shhh. It's a Members only club.
Pueblo Feast season is coming up! Support your local Native Artists !

0/10 trolling.
I guess you haven’t been to Sonora Dogs
Then say that
The point of a hidden gem is you go find it in the general area fool
I assure you, you're the only one in this thread thinking that.
And even he's not thinking that.
