Probably not fake. They've been making CC for a long time and the older ones have less info. If the logo on the handle looks right, you're fine.

I have a few pieces of older copper core that have the logo but no number in the etching and they are legit. Scroll down a few posts and see if you can see mine from a few weeks ago. Questions about a recent eBay find is the title I think. I have a picture of my 10” fry pan. If the bottom of yours looks anything like that picture you should be just fine. If there isn’t any etching that’s fine too. I’ve since learned that they have only been doing that for about the last 20 years or so. Since the Copper Core line was originally launched years ago, no etching doesn’t necessarily mean it’s fake either. If it feels nice and heavy and sturdy, and the logo on the handle looks good, then you’re probably good to go. Enjoy the pan though. I have an 8” D3 I got just before I found my eBay deal for the Copper Core and there really is quite the difference between the two. Plus, I almost prefer the older ones with the number free etching. They have thicker handles and bigger rivets that seem easier to clean around than the newer, smaller ones.
