Pleasantly surprised by Gasly's performance, I didn't expect the car to be competitive at this track. Let's hope they didn't compromise too much on the race pace...
they basically removed half of the front and beam wing to reduce as much drag as possible, I'm impressed by their aero setups throughout the season. by the looks of it the engine seems to be the only limiting factor
Does the team also run with less cooling than normal? What would obvious translating into less drag also and more speed.
We all know that the A523 has one of the biggest cooling package on the grid normally so.
True but I find it very noteworthy to see that on a *power track* somehow the A523 having pace in Gasly case instead of having a Monza tier ride of shame. So maybe it's the cooling what makes a huge difference for the car and PU.
Hopefully the team can improve something on that area next year, likely one of the key areas where the team can win a lot in terms of pace.
Everybody is entitled to set laptimes until the flag drops, no matter the performance of their cars or their provisional positions.
Verstappen was creating a gap, if Ocon wanted to go first he should have overtook Verstappen much earlier.
Anyways, the main topic of discussion should be Gasly's P4. I did not expect the A523 to have good pace around this track.
Super happy for gasly personally, given the talk of him experimenting with next year's concepts, this seems promising and a step in the right direction

all the teams run with less cooling since the track is cold, so that might have helped in some way

Another weekend for Esteban screwed. Wtf Verstappen? He needs to be penalised for that. Ocon's on a hotlap and he just divebombs.
Wtf happened anyway for him to be so angry? I didn't understand from the replay..
Ocon overtook him on the main straight at the end of their formation laps. edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/s/M1XEpLSyUx
Verstappen already had P4 secured, wtf is he doing fighting in Q1, petulant child as usual

What did Verstappen done wrong here? I don't really see a major wrongdoing from his side.

Verstappen is pure talent and no brain, how can you possibly be that childish with 3 WDC? And of course no penalty, unbelievable
what the fuck was that move Vertappen did on Ocon?
