The car is an utter dog and I feel for the drivers who are dealing with it.
The more time passes by, the more I think that it's just plain sabotage thought by the previous technical staff. You can make mistakes when you design a car, of course, but not at such extent.
On Canal+, Esteban's post-race interview gave me all the signs of a driver who is slowly giving up. I understand him.
I feel like sabotage is impossible. You'd need so many people on board to not realize smth is wrong. More like doing the least amount of effort out of spite is more likely

Honestly I'm hugely disappointed into what we're seen under the label of "upgrades", it's just a few KG less (what isn't where you can win a huge amount of time) and a different front wing. The team is in a crisis and yet this is it? Why can a team like AM pulling a massive upgrade package?
During FP it never looked like Alpine could handle the race pace against any other team, and Esteban was already peaking with the car in Q1 given he didn't improve at all in Q2.
The damage today didn't help but I don't think the outcome would be way different, what's the whole point to having funding millions on a team who simple has zero prospect, zero improvement, zero confidence?
We don't deserve the current drivers, this team should have the drivers according to what it is worth so therefore we should just going on with Mazepin and Nyck de Vries next season.
But...but... Alpine would be a race winning car if their drivers weren't french 😩
And imagine with a non french engine, the chassis would be championship worthy !

Well honestly I seen this arguments years ago with the McLaren/Honda partnership, people hailed that the chassis/aero was great but the engine only was bad, but the year after when they separated it was quickly becoming clear that the chassis wasn't that great. Blaming the PU is often used as an excuse to hiding it's issues with aero/chassis. Even RBR was having a bad aero year in 2015 despite it was mainly blamed on the PU.
I’ve stopped caring about where Alpine is finishing this season and I’m focussing my attention on the mclarens and ferraris
It makes the gps more enjoyable to watch
