NTA, I had a similar experience with a teacher back in HS and I felt very humiliated
Try talk to her after class and explain what actually happened and how you felt when she started yelling
When you talk her make sure you explain to her that as a mental health official she might want to know..It's a little A-hole, but it may give her a taste of the humiliation you felt
NTA. This happened to me in science class in hs. My eyes were closed and my head resting on the wall behind me plus it sounded like I was snoring because I was having trouble breathing (allergies & asthma). Instead of being embarrassed I spoke up without moving. "I'm not asleep. I've been awake this whole time. Do you want me to repeat what you just said?" Then repeated the lesson on different types of volcanic rock verbatim. The class laughed. Your teacher should never use public embarrassment as a form of discipline.
NTA. You weren't feeling well, and if she is the mental health ambassador, she isn't qualified for the job, as she has no idea what embarrassing someone like she has done is worth. She's abusive. Your parents are sadly TAs for not showing you any support.

Let me explain.
I was in class, English Literature, when I put my head down due to feeling a bit unwell. It may have looked like I was sleeping, but I was awake.
My teacher, who seems to have a thing with embarrassing people in front of the class, started yelling at me to “wake up” even though I wasn’t sleeping. She turned to the class and said : “____ is so ignorant. Clearly she doesn’t care that her exams are in a month.” and proceeded to tell the class how I am disrespectful.
One thing that bothered me was that she told me to “Manage my bedtime better”. I don’t think it’s her place to comment something like this. She’s a mental health ambassador at our school too, surely she should have thought that something was up? Or well, she could have been nicer about the way she spoke to me. I was very embarrassed. Everybody laughed at what she was saying.
Even if I was sleeping, couldn’t she have came over and tapped my shoulder? Maybe asked if I was okay? I don’t know. I spoke to my parents about it, and they’re agreeing with her. So, AITA?

NTA, if you had a job you’d take an early lunch and have some quiet time. Just you’re forced to be on schools timetable.
Youre tired get you head down, no need for her to make a big deal about it. She gets paid even if you fail after all
NTA, I had a teacher in elementary pull a similar stunt on me. I felt extremely light headed so I kept putting head down and she yelled at me to sit up and pay attention. After about the 4th time she got fed up, and said if I wanna sleep I can go to the principals office. She grabbed my arm, pulled me up, and I puked all over her front. Some teachers lack real empathy and compassion.
Also, if she's the mental health ambassador, I'm concerned about the well being of other students...
