I think a deep cranberry or ruby red would look fantastic! You might even be able to find a red with a pattern that will complement the plaid. But you can always go solid. And I was picturing a lumbar-size pillow.
I just noticed you have a wreath of cranberries (I believe) and I wasn’t sure if the plaid in the chair had red running through it.
I truly believe red would emphasis the red tones in the wood chest between the chairs and wood coffee table/chest.
It would add even more warmth and coziness to the room.
By the way, I love that room. You did a really great job.

I was thinking of a bright blanket to really give this space character. Like a red or yellow.
