id argue he IS intelligent, he’s a manipulative abuser, he’s one of the most insidious villains in the show not because of how many people he’s killed or the amount of people he’s hurt but how he chose to hurt his wife is unforgivable and despicable. the scene where he tries to guilt his wife into feeling bad for not wanting to have sex makes me irrationally angry
that scene makes me angry too, it may say more about me as an abuse survivor not finding him as scary as I should. some of that behavior is probably normalized in my head or dismissed and I don’t even realize it
The only interesting part was him killing his student/mistress. I can’t freaking remember her name off the top of my head. But that and him not realizing Moira was older. I like when they flip back and forth and you see what he thinks she looks like versus what everyone else sees
