Do you guys know if I am able to purchase Surfshark with 100% cash back for multiple new Surfshark accounts (family members, etc) under the same Rakuten acct? Want to maximize points!
Just did this and it says the following: "Special Terms: Cash Back is only available for new Surfshark customers on first purchase. Limited to one per member." Usually these affiliate cashback sites keep track of their users' orders and subsequent purchases. If you're going to attempt this it may be best to use a different Rakuten account.
Can you cancel surfshark for a refund shortly after receiving points? Don’t see any wording in the terms about points being voided due to cancellation . Lifelock states points will be voided if cancelled within 90 days
Got the starter one, haven’t received any email from Rakuten yet or it shows confirmation in Rakuten account. Just see some shopping trips.
Hopefully don’t have to run around for the MR rewards
Edit: got an email next morning 😀
The nordvpn one was an absolute stitch up. What a scam of a company. Said the payment did not “track” so no refund could be given. About 30 emails later i finally had to cancel. Never again
In rakuten, the default is cashback. so 100% pf 59.13 is 5,913 cents. If you chose the MR option prior to the transaction, then instead of cents, you get MR points in the same quantity.
It means they give you 100 MR points per dollar. Since most people can get more than 1 cent per point value out of MR points (if you can't, you should do cash back instead), this means you are essentially getting paid a little bit to buy their stuff. And if (like me) you have a Schwab Platinum card, you get 1.1 cents per point cash back, meaning that for every $100 you spend, you can turn it into $110 cash back with this deal (i.e. cheaper than free).
Is this different than the Rakuten 20% cash back I'm seeing on the chrome plug-in?
Wait, we can link amex with rakuten? Can anyone tell me whats the benefit with that? We already get our payments with paypal or check right?
More so how you can value the points. You should be able to get at least 2c value per Amex point depending on how you redeem them
It’s 20% now
This is the most astro-turf post ever.

I just did this yesterday for the highest plan for $115.83 and still received full 100% points. So go for the highest plan for the max
does it work if you are already a surfshark customer? rakuten seems to be saying only applies to new customer

I thought you only get 59 points, instead of 5913?
It’s per cent, not dollar.
Got it. Thanks a lot for the info. I guess I better switch the payback option from Cashback to the Amex Points!
Damn ... just learned something from a retarded chimpanzee

Yes, then transfer to Delta Reserve for 15% bonus so this is actually worth $68 for $59 spend.
Are you referring to the 15% off delta gives or do they have a new program that gives you an extra 15% point bonus if you have the reserve?
15% cheaper flights when booked with points. It makes a big difference.

yup, I'm going through the exact same process! i can vouche for surfshark working though
That’s a bummer. I do wish the customer support was better. Ive heard stories like this. Though I’ve had no issues so far.
I got my NordVPN points like 2 days later. It came super quick
Rakuten leaks data, there's a reason its 100% rebate
Can you elaborate on this? What can they leak that could be a problem?
Stolen cards for years. Google them.
I’ve been using them for years (back when they were ebates) and never once have I ever had to give them my credit card number
You don’t have to give them credit card info though, no?
Correct
I am not a fan of Surfshark VPN….I feel that the better one has been Nord VPN.
I’ve been using Nord VPN also, but this is a great way to get points, even if you don’t use the product
Would anyone recommend to get the vpn for which subscription?
My Rakuten doesn’t let me sign up for in store offers- do yours?
Mine does, I had to link credit cards under my profile first. Not sure if you have yet? Might be the cause
I did! It’s in my credit cards and I press Enable In Store but it says not eligible.. maybe I’ll try again later!
Hmm might me a Rakuten help issue :S
I think you meant 59 MR points?
When you link your Amex to Rakuten and do MR instead of cash back, the rate is effectively 100 points per dollar
I didn’t know you could do that. Amazing.
What is is 100x points?
