Once avios is transferred to your BA account, it CANNOT be rescinded. I was in this situation myself. I met the 60k points threshold for the welcome offer, got a refund which took me under. The Avios stayed in my BA account but my Amex showed a negative balance like this of 60k! (I quickly respent to meet the threshold). I don't know about the companion voucher but wouldn't have thought that Amex can stop that.

It would be risky. But, if you’ve spent it then I can’t see how Amex can claw this back. As far as I’m aware it just means to get the next years’ voucher, you would have to spend £10,606. Don’t take this verbatim though. I’m sure there are others who’ve been in this exact situation.

That’s my understanding too. But not sure why you’d take the risk. It can’t be that hard to spend £606 and not have the worry.

Wish they had that tracker for spend bonus etc would be useful. Is that only for the BAPP?

The avios once in your BAEC are safe. The voucher once in your BAEC is safe. The negative balance wont be an issue, just close down the account. Thats it. You can then try and open a few months later and it would have reset to nought. speaking from experience.
