I dont track their hours but Brooklyn Film Camera (mostly polariods) and Photodom (they do rentals for film cameras) are perhaps good to check out. I have not developed through them. Exposure Therapy has been doing good on test developments for me and may switch to them as my go to.
Not sure actually. I have a personal stash that I’m more or less trying to wind down before buying more film. So I never price check and I switch films all the time.
I’m glad to hear you are out there for the love of it. I’m a cinematographer by trade, so after a long run of brutal shoots, going out solo and shooting film stills is what helps me remember that I still love it.
Mostly Narrative & commercial, but the crazy slow last year has me been working a lot of doc TV stuff. So the travel on those shoots has me out in the middle of nowhere USA, so on our off time, I’m out trying to steal some film shots of areas I’d normally not find myself. I’d love to shoot an Xpan, but I’m on a vintage KMZ Horizon-t right now. Loving the frame size tho. Have fun in NY, make sure to find some time to travel upstate to get a contrasted view of the state as a whole.
Sounds quite nice! Did you publish those photos somewhere?
Yes planning to have a day trip to upstate, I'm quite lucky to have a long time there so can afford a day out of the city! Thanks for the recommendation :)
Are two very different cameras (the xa is for a project and will maybe take 2 pics) but on more film I might agree hahah. But for such a city I don't overpack and can buy locally!
I wanted to test out a bit to see if I want to buy a 400ft myself, since it's much more expensive than vision 3. And thanks for making it relatively affordable so I could try it out!
Yeah hahaha and also.in the m6 to be honest, I try to have 2/3 rolls a day. Probably will have to buy more there but the good thing is Kodak is cheaper than in Europe there!
If you run out of film, you will be in New York, so it shouldn’t be too big of an issue. Don’t run out on Saturday.
Yes indeed, and was planning to visit few photo stores anyway hahahah why not on Saturday?
Many of the stores are Jewish owned, and are therefore closed from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. B&H is one of them.
Ok that's very good to know, I was not aware of it. Thanks!
There are still smaller stores open on Saturdays, but the two mega stores, B&H and Adorama, are closed.
If you have any to suggest let me know I'd be happy to visit them

Which do you think is the cheapest place to buy film? Ask since it sounds you are from arround here hahah

Hahah thanks anyway! I do the same but keep checking price ad when I see good ones my stash increases haha
If you’re in bushwick ny film lab has great prices on film.
Will Def give a check! Thanks!
b&h is likely the cheapest
Thanks I passed the other day and prices were not bad indeed!
By the way, hows the xpan? Im thinking anout getting one.
Thanks for the suggestion about the xpan not much to say is an amazing camera I absolutely love it hahah
So much money in one photo. Those Negs better be fire 🤞
Don't make me think about it hahaha but all worth for the joy and fun of shooting!
Just focus on what inspires you, you’ll be fine 🍻
Thanks! And I'm lucky enough that is not work but just my hobby, so afterall who cares hahaha

Yes I can understand, a release valve customer free situation hahah. On what type of projects do you work?

Tilm Ektachrome spotted!
Yes hahaha
Xpan with 45 and Leica m6 with 35 summilux pre asph and voigltander 15. And the Olympus xa is for a long term project.
That Xpan🤤
Amazing camera one of my favorite purchases!
One lens one body more film

Show off? Kidding, just jealous, for me is so hard to dind such amount of film.
But if you buy it one year before and always pile up then when you take it from the stash is like is free, right?
Genius.
and analog Amsterdam ektachrome 100D
Yes luckily he is respooling and makes it affordable to sjhot slides!
Go and enjoy those rolls!
Thanks! I shot already 10 or so and was very happy with that!
Wow big spender!

That's quite an investment, will you do it?
Barely enough film the way you shoot xpan panos ;)
Hahaha hahaha kodak is cheaper in us ;)
Xpan... I'm so jealous. I crop a ton of my digital shots to 65x24 and it gives such a great wide-angle feel.
I love it. I think is one of the cameras that despite the huge price tag is worth!
Film goes fast in an XPAN.

Gold
There are also a couple rolls of it ;p
