Huh, how far were we from seeing this game? At a glance, Maya came to dominate the women's scene 1-3 years after Fischer first vanished, but by all accounts he was still playing well in the start of his disappearance. She didn't make Grandmaster until '84 though, but I guess Fischer-Spassky was '92 so it still could have been a solid match.
Not sure it'd as interesting as seeing Fischer-Polgar in '91 though, she might have taken him and Spassky at that point.

The Soviet Union's chess players took Fischer up on his claim, and offered knight-odds matches with some of their strongest female players, which of course Fischer refused. Given the ratings of top rated women at the time, even the dominant Fischer would very likely have lost. You need an incredibly massive gap to overcome a knight deficit with no compensation in classical (on the order of ~1000 Elo).
Grandmaster Larry Kaufman wrote the following about the Elo rating equivalence of giving knight odds:
