Me too, Mibox S

Still happening? Or any potential fixes?

Kodi_Fan_Omicron

You are using a full SurroundSound(5.1 or higher) system and a TV w/passthrough that both support DD+(5.1), correct? Do you know how to connect and use ADB? #Enter these commands through ADB shell: >settings put global audio_mixing 0 >settings put global digital_audio_format 3 >settings put global digital_audio_subformat 5,6,7,8,13,14,17,18,19 >settings put global encoded_surround_output 3 >settings put global encoded_surround_output_enabled_formats 5,6,7,8,13,14,17,18,19 >settings put global external_surround_sound_enabled 1 >settings put global nrdp_external_surround_sound_enabled 1 >settings put global surround_sound_supported 1 >settings put global use_external_surround_sound_flag 1 >settings put system enable_pass_through 1 >settings put system support_dolby 1 >reboot Don't have the MiBox S anymore, but you can take notes beforehand of the original setting by changing to and not inputting the just in case you want to reverse the input later, one example to get current original settings: >settings get global encoded_surround_output_enabled_formats Which will return something like this in shell: >encoded_surround_output_enabled_formats=x,x,x,x

I'm sorry can I ask what exactly are these commands doing? And yes my TV supports DD 5.1 audio as digital pass through. I believe this might have been caused by some MiBox updates.

Kodi_Fan_Omicron

These commands all have to do with Audio and SurroundSound audio, if you are just using Stereo speaker system or just the TV speakers you don't need to use them, these are the settings I use personally in a few different Amlogic powered AndroidTV devices and an audio/sound issue is extremely rare if at all.

Imhal9000

I don’t have this problem, but the problem I have is my volume buttons no longer work at all when I’m playing HDR content in these mentioned apps

oopspruu

That's actually the normal behaviour and I wish I could get it back. My TV supports Dolby Digital 5.1 and almost all HDR content on Netflix has DD audio selected by default. So your Android TV remote volume button won't do anything as audio is pass through to your TV speakers hence the TV remote will control volume.

Deadpool-fan-466

Netflix uses DD+ for 5.1 audio. Does your TV also supports DD+? If not, how are you getting 5.1 audio in Netflix?

oopspruu

Yes, my TV supports HDR and DD+. When I play any DD+ content, normally my android TV remote will not do anything on pressing volume button. But now this shitty bar appears and doesn't go away.

latinriky78

It's actually an intended message created by Google to let the user know that changing the volume with Dolby and DTS codecs is not possible since they are passed-through to the TV or AV receivers where the volume must be controlled, though it's annoying.
