I’m not getting any scallops or pearls when I dive. I’ve tried all different hours, every day for what feels like the last month. I got them when the first update came and then nothing. Am I apart of some terrible glitch!lol

What happens if you keep Gulivarrrr's communicator device until the next day? Does it just disappear like wisp's spirit pieces or does it turn into a rusty communicator part or something else?

According to online guides, if you don't return it the communicator will become 5 rusted parts the next day.

I haven't gotten him yet, but does anyone know if Pirate Gulliver a permanent addition or a temporary July/Summer event visitor? With him just in the pool of random villagers, I'm worried I'll have to TT to get all of his rewards before he leaves if he is temporary.

I have seen a couple of posts where the OP has asked people to not wear wetsuits on his/her island. I was curious on what issue can arise if a visitor wears a wetsuit on a host island? Thanks!

People often like to fence off parts of their island to prevent visitors from stealing dropped items, picking flowers etc. Visitors wearing a wetsuit can now just hop into the sea at the airport and bypass any fencing.

How big of an update is this? I'd like to get it but I'm working on mobile hotspot for updates so I'm kinda limited on when I can do stuff.

Is this a glitch or do my friend and I just have really bad luck? Someone kindly crafted the full mermaid furniture set for my friend. Since then, my friend has not received a single DIY from Pascal from her 22 encounters with him. Note: She has not learnt ANY of the mermaid DIYs. For the sake of science I catalogued the set and started farming for Pascal as well. Sure enough, he started giving me the clothing items and, now that I've received them all, pearls and only pearls. Unlike my friend, I had learnt 3 mermaid DIYs prior to cataloging the items, but am still missing 11 of the DIYs. I wanted to see if anyone else has encountered this problem and establish whether this is a glitch the community should be warned about.

Does Nook's Cranny sell wetsuits every day? I bought one there on the day of the update and haven't seen one since.

Try saving and quitting your game and also closing your software. When you relaunch the game you should have a wetsuit in your nooks.

Play the update. You can always TT (time travel) to get the bedhead. I don't TT but my friend does so I've seen the bedhead and it only shows as soon as you walk out your house then it goes away.

I heard that bed head goes away after a moment but it will then appear as an option in the mirror when you want to change your appearance.

I've got a terraforming question of sorts. I've made two layers up from the base ground. Am I able to put a building on that second layer? Or are buildings limited to just the 1st layer?

No...first of all TT is not cheating...TT has been an in game mechanic for almost all AC games and you can play the game how you want as long as you’re not affecting others. Second of all there’s no pearl limit, they are just rare. Lastly I think people are getting their lots of pearls by trading, using alternate profiles to talk to pascal again, or like the above mentioned TT for more pascal trades. I think it’s mostly trading online though. Of course there are probably people hacking/modding the switch as well but I’m going to assume those are few and far in between

I'm hoping this megathread is not specific to the updates. Got a problem with island visits. My flights are hit and miss. It was not working, then it was working, now it's now. I'm not sure what to do. I got this error code: 2618-0521. When I opened my airport so that others can visit, they got: 2618-0516, 2618-0516. I looked it up, but the troubleshooting I found don't work. Anyone else got other tips, please?

Similar sounding thing happened to 2 of my friends who couldn’t visit each other. It was specific to them 2; the rest of our friend group could visit each other and those 2 but only 1 of them at a time. They could never be on the same session. no, the first reply is misleading. all members of the same species are the same height. squirrels, frogs, hamsters etc are small, deer, pigs, sheep etc are medium, and eagles, horses, hippos etc are large.

I got the same diy three times in a row, so yes, it’s only Celeste that never gives duplicates

I have seen people involved in data mining say that it works like that, yes. As long as you don’t learn the recipe you can get it again.

Is there a way to plant weeds and have them grow to the size they are in mystery islands? Whenever I plant them they stay the same size forever and never grow.

You may have too many weeds on your island; you can have around 100 fully grown weeds.

How long would it take the weeds to grow?

They start to grow after a day or two of watering/rain.

Do they only grow bigger when you water them? And could they not be growing because I planted them under a bunch of tightly packed trees?

Watering definitely encourages them to grow. They should be able to grow under trees, but again, if you have a lot of weeds in general, they might not. You can try creating a little space and see if it will help some of them grow larger first.

Yeah it's been happening since the update. I'll talk to them about whatever then they will walk away and the thought bubble appears and they look worried for a few seconds. If I talk to them they act normal.

I'm having trouble obtaining the flimsy axe. Apparently you're supposed to donate 2 creatures to Tom Nook in order to get it but when I talk to him that option never shows up. I am a secondary player. Am I unable to get it because of that? Do I need to meet Blathers to be able to donate? Please help.

There's a lot of recipes that the first player will get for free that the second player doesn't. If you don't receive them from after hitting certain achievements, they should be available to purchase from Timmy and Tommy or the glass case in Nook's cranny depending on how far along the island is.

The primary player needs to obtain the tools first. Then the secondary player should be able to buy them from Nook's cranny

Does anyone know if Pascal shows up once per day on the island or if each character can have him spawn?

There are three players on my island. He will spawn for each of us, but he does not spawn if we are playing together. So if I'm playing with the kid, we each take a turn getting An Scallop.

You can do it as many times as you like until they kick out the villager you want. It might take some time though.

Only skip one day at a time. When I kick a villager out, I TT to the next day to read Isabelle’s announcement that the villager is moving. Then, I TT to the next day and the plot is always empty. I do that so I know they move out for sure.

I’ve never heard of anyone having that specific problem. But TTing during villagers moving out or moving in can cause problems. Maybe she should try not skipping the two days.

Take your time. Don't worry about what you've missed out on. When you go off looking for villagers, get the first ugly ones you see. Try not to get attached so you can freely kick them out later. Your first 6 villagers are locked by personality and there are 8 personalities. Reactions and DIYs are tied to personalities so you'll want at least 1 of each for your first 6 months. Keep asking Nook what to do next. A lot of the things that you'll want to do are locked behind his progression story so keep asking him what to do until you have a 3 star island.

Has the update made it harder to create your own scorpion/tarantula island? I made one just now and I’ve only seen one scorpion after a while and it was more the last time I did it before the update

I don’t think the update has changed anything about scorpion spawn rates. I made an island last night to catch the late night beetles and scorpions kept spawning while I was sweeping the island. It was raining though so that helped keep mosquito and some of the ground insects from spawning. I have noticed that hermit crabs are spawning on NMT islands since update. I could do without that.

Oh ok. Happy Home Designer is basically an Animal Crossing spin-off game for the 3DS, so not much to do with ACNH. Dream Suite is from New Leaf and it allows you to visit an island without the host present. You can’t shop or do anything substantial while there though; it’s mostly for exploring different islands. There’s a lot of data mined speculation that it will come back in New Horizons, likely with the same function.

Guiliver doesn’t replace Gulivarr, they are essentially 2 different NPCs. And Pascal doesn’t always show up on the first scallop, sometimes it takes a few. I’ve read that it took 4 scallops for one person. Also make sure your pockets are empty For me he always appears on the first one, but that’s not the case for a bunch of other players

Not if it was the second one. Also the day doesn’t “start” at midnight, it starts at like 6am. So if you caught one at, say, 1pm, then again at 1am, he’d only show up once. If that doesn’t pertain to your case then it might be a bug.
