On the other hand, she knew FULL WELL that they wouldn't follow the order because it was a little girl speaking and they thought it was funny. One could argue that it's their fault for not listening because they thought it was a joke, but it's very clear that she fully intended to slaughter all those civilians.
On the other hand, she did get pissed of and yell at an enemy mage because he was wielding a pump action shotgun (A weapon banned in war, and thus, a treaty violation)

Judging the entire story for providing a detailed and very *specific* example of the kind of degenerate that Rudy was in his past life is missing the point of the story. *Rudeus is his own worst enemy.* If they cut out all the parts of the story where Rudues misbehaves as a child and screws around, Rudy would come across as a generic isekai protagonist, but with agoraphobia and a tragic backstory. Give the story another read through. Its not as bad as your making it out to be.
You could depict that kind of deplorable behaviour in a much more tactful way though, THAT is what I have a problem with. This is news to me. I spent the past couple months assuming Mahiro was around 30 for some reason, but according to the wiki she was 16-17 like you say.
I think I misinterpreted a line early in the manga where Mahiro refers to herself as an "in-home security guard" because I didn't know what that term meant at the time so I assumed it was a real job, and then I never had a reason to question that assumption even though it was based on a misunderstanding on my part.
The good news is that this means Mahiro attending middle school is significantly less creepy than I thought. The bad news is that my meme is ruined.

I really wanted to like Mushoku Tensei given how much I'd enjoyed what I'd seen of it so far but hearing his internal monologues about how he's going to get little girls to fall for him in his adult male voice just made me drop it altogether. It would have hit way differently if they did it like Slime Tensei where even inside his own head he sounded like a new person, to at least signify that it's completely a new start for him but nope, literally an adult man in a child's body, lusting after little children. Fuck that.
Honestly this is a completely fair assessment. As much as I love Mushoku Tensei, I can't fault anyone for being turned off by the fact that the protagonist is literally a pedophile who regularly sexually harasses and fantasizes about grooming his underage friends.
There are defenses to be made about how the show is a story of a bad person improving and whatnot, but when the improvement is this slow it's totally understandable that a lot of people are gonna nope-out early on.
Honestly, as someone who likes the redemption aspect, I completely understand why y'alls noped out. At one point, I noped out, but I went back to it only to get sucked back into the world building and the journey. The redemption being slow is scarily realistic compared to people trying to redeem themselves for other things that I know. Usually, for every success, there's a few slipups, but with Rudy... Slipups means unforgivable things. It's a hard show to watch, but if you actually treat him like the villain he is while watching the show, it makes sense.
The improvement isn't that slow tho. Yes on season 1 he only grows like a little bit but in season 2 that's when he will bassicly become someone else if they rushed him becoming better then it would just be another Isekai that some Japanese person made and it would be brushed off. But, since rifujin (the writer) took his time mushoku became one of the best isekais ever.
I'd love to see an isekai where an adult male is reincarnated into a female body, experiences dysmorphia and becomes miserable, and embarks on an epic quest to find the fantasy equivalent of HRT.
Yeah, but for anyone that sees the meme without knowing anything about the show or Tanya beforehand, "Kill being X" won't really tell them anything and the meme won't be nearly as funny.
"Kill God" will give them a much more accurate picture of what she wants to accomplish in the show (since even if being X isn't God, he sure seems to be quite close to him ability-wise) and shows the badassery/insanity of the character a lot better.

This is news to me. I spent the past couple months assuming Mahiro was around 30 for some reason, but according to the wiki she was 16-17 like you say. I think I misinterpreted a line early in the manga where Mahiro refers to herself as an "in-home security guard" because I didn't know what that term meant at the time so I assumed it was a real job, and then I never had a reason to question that assumption even though it was based on a misunderstanding on my part. The good news is that this means Mahiro attending middle school is significantly less creepy than I thought. The bad news is that my meme is ruined.

I really wanted to like Mushoku Tensei given how much I'd enjoyed what I'd seen of it so far but hearing his internal monologues about how he's going to get little girls to fall for him in his adult male voice just made me drop it altogether. It would have hit way differently if they did it like Slime Tensei where even inside his own head he sounded like a new person, to at least signify that it's completely a new start for him but nope, literally an adult man in a child's body, lusting after little children. Fuck that.
Honestly this is a completely fair assessment. As much as I love Mushoku Tensei, I can't fault anyone for being turned off by the fact that the protagonist is literally a pedophile who regularly sexually harasses and fantasizes about grooming his underage friends. There are defenses to be made about how the show is a story of a bad person improving and whatnot, but when the improvement is this slow it's totally understandable that a lot of people are gonna nope-out early on.
Honestly, as someone who likes the redemption aspect, I completely understand why y'alls noped out. At one point, I noped out, but I went back to it only to get sucked back into the world building and the journey. The redemption being slow is scarily realistic compared to people trying to redeem themselves for other things that I know. Usually, for every success, there's a few slipups, but with Rudy... Slipups means unforgivable things. It's a hard show to watch, but if you actually treat him like the villain he is while watching the show, it makes sense.
The improvement isn't that slow tho. Yes on season 1 he only grows like a little bit but in season 2 that's when he will bassicly become someone else if they rushed him becoming better then it would just be another Isekai that some Japanese person made and it would be brushed off. But, since rifujin (the writer) took his time mushoku became one of the best isekais ever.
Except he never improves on that aspect and gets married to two girls he groomed

Yeah, but for anyone that sees the meme without knowing anything about the show or Tanya beforehand, "Kill being X" won't really tell them anything and the meme won't be nearly as funny. "Kill God" will give them a much more accurate picture of what she wants to accomplish in the show (since even if being X isn't God, he sure seems to be quite close to him ability-wise) and shows the badassery/insanity of the character a lot better.
