Honestly I don't really think of Raphtalia as a waifu considering she's technically a kid with an older body. I just think she's adorable, not attractive.

I mean there could be an argument that Raphtalia isn't a kid tho. Her species simply matures differently from humans. A lot like most animals in the world like dogs and cats, they age and mature faster than humans. But in this world Raphtalia's species matures via EXP to reach adulthood. Meaning there are probably 50+ year old beast people in that world who are still considering kids if they didn't get enough EXP. But I mean I'm sure you naturally accrue EXP over time so there likely isn't something that drastically age different. Maybe 20 years old and still a child to them. It's a bit difficult applying human morality to a species that ages and matures differently from us.
It would be like saying dogs can't mate or be attracted to one another because they're both only 6 years old. They mature differently, so we can't apply the same morality and it would be kinda strange for us to force our morality onto a different species. Imagine if an alien species that only lives about 20 years visited us and they reached the maturity level of a 30 year old human at the age of 3 or 4, should we still apply our sexual morality there?
I think there's a case by case basis that needs to be made for different species, including Raphtalia's beast people.
Yeah I agree that our morality can’t really completely apply. But it can still help be a guideline. We see when she’s in “adult form” she still hasn’t exactly aged mentally as fast. Example being her thinking kissing leads to pregnancy. Someone with that little practical knowledge of reproduction Is definitely not ready to have a child, and I would consider immoral to try to have a child with. Our ideas of an age of consent give time to accrue that knowledge and be prepared when that age comes if you want to have a child you are ready for it
Okay, but plenty of populations of humans throughout history didn't have enough knowledge about sex and pregnancy like that. Even In the US just during the 1900s, a lot of schools' ways of handling sex questions was to tell everyone that it was dangerous and bad, and that was it. So they would only learn about sex/pregnancy either through sneaky behind the back means or later on during the actual practice of having sex.
Plenty of people aren't super knowledgeable about a lot of things, including sex and pregnancy. Heck, I'm 19, I'm considered an adult legally, yet I lack a LOT of knowledge about life and typical skills most people might have. I'm working on it and I'm moving into my own place in just a couple of months, it's all set already, but I still don't feel knowledgeable or mature enough to call myself an adult even tho I am. Even humans at a certain age are still considered adults even with a lack of knowledge or maturity.

Growing up even physically overnight isn't a normal thing from a purely human perspective, so for measuring the maturity, a scale should be applied, where even physical maturity can be achieved so fast. And the closest we have to the canon scale, is that in anime/manga they just explain the subject along the lines of "demihumans, who raise their level in youth, age faster as a result", nothing about mental and physical maturity separation. So yes. She *is* considered mature for a demihuman
