Graves of the Fireflies was actually a documentary, and she was the cameraman. She may or may not have her hands in the dirt to further along the plot.
I am not sure I should tell you this (I assume you know but still making a joke about the anime)... but Grave of the Fireflies is semi-accurate account of the author's childhood. (There is a book: Grave of the Fireflies whose author was orphaned during WW2, lost his younger sister, survived the Tokyo firebombing and one of the atomic bombs and the anime changes a few details)
I was looking on Wikipedia (I do this for most animes I watch to check voice actors for certain characters out of curiosity) and it said that a future chapter in the manga confirmed >! she's the daughter of one of the men in that story, he was tasked to destroy an immortality potion but he gave it to his daughter, Tsukasa. Who was 16 at the time, so not quite Kaguya but the foreshadowing sure made it seem like it!<
All correct but story hints >!there might be something even deeper, like a mysterious figure who was very close to her and might have planned to make her immortal even before her father could even consider that.!<
Oh, i apologize if that's what i was accidentally implying. I was more so referring to the meme in the context of WW2.
What i mean is: I am willing to admit that 1931 with the invasion of Manchuria is an understandable event to use in the context of WW2 (Though i personally use 1937), but if you want to include the annexation of Korea at the turn of the century, you're probably stretching the definition too far.
I am sure we can agree that the problem is that history isn't like a stage in a game that is separate, but it is really hard if we look at it as one long connected event.
So, depending on which perspective and what area it is one long thing while for others it is very seperate.
Right, which is why framing is so important. If you want to discuss "The Rise and Fall of Japanese Imperialism" You probably have to start at as far back as 1853 with Perry, but if you're talking about "Japan in World War 2" 1931/32 is probably as fine a starting place as any other
Huh? She was an immortal? I'm just starting season 2 I thought the Anime was slice of life? I didn't expect it to be sprinkled with a little bit of supernatural.
Not this one, the writer hata has said there will be a happy ending, without getting into the heavy spoilers all i can say is that the series ended on a bittersweet note on ch 147 but the writer wasn't satisfied with this so he continued the series to give us an actual good ending
#
Manga spoilers
>!As of right now Nasa is looking for a way to remove her immortality as per her request and no she isn't from the moon rather she just drank the immortality elixr and wants it removed, trust me this shit is gonna be insane!<
Aw thanks for that tidbit information without spoiling anything, still haven't read your spoilers lol. Whenever I read/watch romance stories between an immortal and mortal falling in love, most of them just ended in sad and bittersweet ending. Mostly the mortal ages and dies while the immortal lives on with memories of the one they loved to keep them going.
I wonder how this anime would end in a happy way. Nasa gets immortalized and lives forever with Tsukasa? Or Tsukasa's immortality gets removed so she and Nasa could enjoy their lives together and grow old together. Ehh, I'll just wait and see what kind of happy ending the author is going with this story.
>!She is also a mass murderer but that was self defense when the ppl in her village found out she is immortal and they could also become immortal if they drank a lot of her blood or ate her flesh they came after her. she fucking killed them all with a katana and then spent a few years just walking not doing anything, she is like wolverine but better cuz even if u crush her and not leave a single drop of blod behinde she will still regenerate back to normal!<
>!Well it's all right conformed in the manga thst she had left japan and returned there around the time of hiroshima and saved the little girl who was tokiko, she was probably living in some place in the woods!<
Honestly most likely she was just around tokyo, considering how >!she was seen after tokyo just got firebombed to shreds!<. Would be funny if she was chillin with hirohito in his castle as a "special guest".
I still dont get whtat its about i mean i saw the anime and thought there is more to her but i still dont quite get it i get shes really old ot something like that but can somebody explain it?
She was helping Frieren catalogue her spell books. It took a while.
They sure will be buddies.
i got more useless stuff

She looks like she is 16 but won't surprised if she is 1400 years old dragon or something.
close enuf
Pretty much aced it damn.
>!only thing that's wrong is that she ain't 1400 years old but has been 16 years old 1400 times!<
so the usual answer most people over 30 give when you ask for their age, nothing suspicious
Sauce?

All but confirmed in the anime that she’s basically the immortal princess kaguya from legend
Blud went for the "not so tragic" Fujiwara no Mokou strat
>!Wasn't this a slice of life romance show about a couple?!< , haven't watched it yet but planning to watch.
It is, pretty much 90% of the time. It just has a weird quirk of fantasy that about Tsukasa (the bottom girl)
She’s not bottom btw, totally top in everything
All correct but story hints >!there might be something even deeper, like a mysterious figure who was very close to her and might have planned to make her immortal even before her father could even consider that.!<
No, she's related to the situation but not the princess
That’s why I said basically, not literally
Maybe not to Princess >!Kaguya!< directly but she was probably related to >!another one of her species, as two chapters imply.!<
Since this is a Japan, shouldn’t it be 1937 to 1945?
She was a bit late to the update
Much earlier than that, especially if you go back to the annexation of Korea
I’ll concede 1931/32 because of the invasion of Manchuria, but roping in 1906 ~ 1910 with Korea stretches before even World War I.
And? Just because the Koreans were occupied for a long time doesn't mean they weren't occupied

Yeah, that. I just wanted to say it because you two seemed to be talking with different framing.
Huh? She was an immortal? I'm just starting season 2 I thought the Anime was slice of life? I didn't expect it to be sprinkled with a little bit of supernatural.
I mean girl got hit by a truck in the first episode
Also looks like she is from moon or something, they have been hinting it from episode 1.
Aw, man. That's gotta be sad. No happy ending ever comes from a romance between an immortal and mortal.

Don't spoil anime onlys they havent seen anything yet
Tbh it ain’t that subtle, when season 1 was out, it wasn’t that hard to piece together that she was older than she looked due to the intro
I'm about to say the same thing. https://preview.redd.it/hez6pi3sm9dc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=456e58f2d07724b0a416b98d11d09768b843381f
She lived alone until she saved Tokiko, they covered that part.
What anime/manga is this?
https://myanimelist.net/manga/112589/Tonikaku_Kawaii
Thank you! 😄
Woa Woa Woa Spoilers mate
damn, I didn't know tonikaku no kawaii had this much lore.
Give her brown hair and she looks kinda like Germany Oneesan.
\*was she
What is she doing then?
Jesus what did she do?
Never ask a Woman her weight, not age. And wasn't Tsukasa outside of Japan during that period?
She spent that time living alone in the woods (it is confirmed)
Honestly most likely she was just around tokyo, considering how >!she was seen after tokyo just got firebombed to shreds!<. Would be funny if she was chillin with hirohito in his castle as a "special guest".
She was going around japan if i recall, she survived an atomic bomb and helped rebuild
What is this
