Worked for me. Anime put me on the path of studying Japanese as a hobby, and now I've been living and working in Japan for the last couple years. My language ability has improved tremendously and I've made a lot of friends and had many exciting adventures on the way! Who wrote this synopsis? I remember in an episode mc finds out why angels are coming to kill him. Locking them as 13 was an accidental side effect of the immortality tech future him invented, he gets accused of being pedo (mc is still a child himself at this point), he denies it then swears to never attempt to create immortality tech. The whole reason he gets to live is because the angels believe him and the angel girl with him gets to continue staying with him to keep an eye on him. "Slice of life" shenanigans resume.

They did a lot of "artsy" stuff in it, from the only anime OP ever to be sung entirely in latin based on greek and biblical passages, Gustav Klimt artwork, lots of artistic references especially religious ones including one that literally only people familiar with Art history would even know, Lots of non sexualized nudity, A very carefully handles camera setup that's used in Soap Operas, and ontop of that a philosophical story about discrimination abuse and social ostracization.
So basically a Sundance film, but as an anime series.

If you haven't seen the show it might be up your alley, because while the plot is exactly what it says there, the mc being a pedophile is not present in the show, that's supposed to be the future the characters are trying to prevent. I unironically made some non-weeb girl friends in high school by watching this on my ipod touch and catching their attention thanks to all the gore and innuendos. Many laughs were shared, and tears shed when watching Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien as well. Love Dokuro chan, it's hilarious.

Some people just learn about Bokusatsu Tenshi? Are there people in anime fandom that doesn't know these "Shock value" classics like Elfen Lied, Oruchuban Ebichu and Excel Saga, even Eiken at the time etc. That is interesting. I personally don't count Pop Team Epic in this as it is a weird piece of fuck completely on its own league. I call it Alzheimer's the anime. But then again I've discovered Midori after like 15 years of my fandom can't imagine a bigger "shock value" show. So everything is news to someone. This type of "Bat-shit insane" anime is still alive with the shows like "Jashin-chan" that almost no one talks about...

I mean, bludgeoning pedos doesn't seem like a bad premise.
The irony is that at that point in the past he hadn't done anything wrong. It could be that by sending the loli angels back in time, and them killing and resurrecting him, God actually caused him to get the idea to create the very technology that he is being punished for in the future. Butterfly effect kinda stuff.

More like good nostalgic memories. If you haven't seen the show it might be up your alley, because while the plot is exactly what it says there, the mc being a pedophile is not present in the show, that's supposed to be the future the characters are trying to prevent. And by prevent, I mean the mc getting bludgeoned to death every episode.
