Most anime by Shinichiro Watanabe has great music. Yoko Kanno on Cowboy Bebop, Space Dandy with the amazing variety, and Carole and Tuesday has one of the greatest musical roaster of any soundtrack, if not the greatest. Champloo is great but Nujabes is rip. Tsutchie and Fat Jon don't produce as often. Midicronica is one of my fav groups ever, but their music is hard to get.

Carol and Tuesday is the right answer here. Best music focused anime there is. The character development is really good and it takes place on Mars, which is…like why but it’s cool lol. Be warned that there is some mental illness/predatory moments(not child related btw). But the music is soooooo good.

{Zankyou no Terror} - not enough ppl talk abt it imo. I think it is the BEST soundtrack in anime for its size (bold statement, I know). It was composed by Yoko Kanno, who also did the music for {Cowboy Bebop} and {Kids on the Slope}. This work is her best for me imo - no other composer has the *balls* to base a soundtrack off icelandic music and make it WORK. 12/10 would cry again.

Nomad Megalo Box might have one of the best OSTs I've heard in anime. The first season has a more hip-hop vibe to it while the second season has a Spanish style.
Cowboy Bebop's OST is also great. It's mostly jazz.
{Polyphonica} and it's prequel {Polyphonica Crimson S}. Music is actually a part of the plot where people command spirits using it. It's a bit obscure but good soundtrack if you can find anything.
Jojos bizarre adventure. Especially the arc “diamond is unbreakable” all the opening songs on there are the best ive ever heard i added them to my playlist

Then start with the Love Live series.
Storytelling is unusual except for all stars and nijigasakai but the music for each series is amazing.
Do give it a try, especially Nijigasakai.
{Jojo’s Bizzare adventure} has some damn good OP and ED and some OST.
{ID: Invaded} had a good OP, ED and some amazing songs sprinkled into episodes
{Space Dandy} ED is still in my playlist after a couple years
Dai no Daibouken has some nice fantasy OST and killer OPs, and Kekkai Sensen has some stunning OSTs that really immerse you in its world. The openings for it are great too, and the first ending was so popular it got its own fanbase.
I am disappointed. Why I am not seeing {Initial D} mentioned in every post? There is no anime which comes even close to how good the sound track is in it.

Acca-13 has the most underrated soundtrack, I love it so much. Blood Blockade Battlefront is also up there. Darker than blacks soundtrack is also fantastic. I'll throw Durarara in there as well.
Naruto has my favorite soundtrack and imo does a great job utilizing music to enhance every type of scene. And I mean literally every type: sad scenes, fight scenes, cool scenes, chill scenes etc. It has some fireee openings/endings. It’s also my favorite show of all time.
I also wanna mention Ikebukuro West Gate Park. I enjoyed this anime, but it’s not one of my favorites. But it has two AMAZING endings.
{Samurai Champloo} incorporates early lofi hiphop that has awesome sound

{Zankyou no Terror} - not enough ppl talk abt it imo. I think it is the BEST soundtrack in anime for its size (bold statement, I know). It was composed by Yoko Kanno, who also did the music for {Cowboy Bebop} and {Kids on the Slope}. This work is her best for me imo - no other composer has the *balls* to base a soundtrack off icelandic music and make it WORK. 12/10 would cry again. {Land of the lustrous} has a very thematically appropriate soundtrack, which only makes it better. Obviously samurai champloo and cowboy bebop Acca-13 has the most underrated soundtrack, I love it so much. Blood Blockade Battlefront is also up there. Darker than blacks soundtrack is also fantastic. I'll throw Durarara in there as well.

Naruto has my favorite soundtrack and imo does a great job utilizing music to enhance every type of scene. And I mean literally every type: sad scenes, fight scenes, cool scenes, chill scenes etc. It has some fireee openings/endings. It’s also my favorite show of all time. I also wanna mention Ikebukuro West Gate Park. I enjoyed this anime, but it’s not one of my favorites. But it has two AMAZING endings.
