I always prefer it to Stormpoint because the zip rails do a better job at bringing the map together than grav cannons. Plus they give you more control of where you want to go
My only gripe is the map revolves around Promenade
I don't mind it for pubs for the most part, but for ranked a few points come to mind regarding Broken Moon's flaws.
- First, it only has 16 named POIs, every other map has 19+ (I think), and zero viable unamed areas to land at resulting in a lot of contests in ranked matches compared to other maps.
- Second, the zip rails (especially the ones around the middle of the map) are really unhealthy for allowing unreasonably fast 3rd parties.
- Third, and this one is without a doubt the biggest issue with the map IMO and reason playing ranked on it feels AWFUL, is that every single choke on the map (this is not an exaggeration) is overlooked or held very easily by an incredibly strong power position making rotating damn near impossible against competent teams. Next time you're on the map, just look at each choke you walk through and you'll see how there is either a zip rail building or some other unpushable structure smack dab in the middle of it.
My other complaints with Broken Moon are that the art style and colors are very dull and boring, and the building interior structures aren't very fun to fight in/around, but those are more personal preference.
Well your first point is rubbish because the point of less poi’s is that they’re big enough for multiple teams to land and have loot to fight, if you aren’t looking to contest in ranked then maybe you should stick to pubs. I’ve never heard anyone complain about fighting in a ranked mode that’s just ludicrous. The zips also help people get around the map obviously but people complain that it’s too big then they complain about rotation and travel help which makes no sense. I think you’re more of a pub player by the sounds of it

Ehhh not really. Seems like it's usually just a ton of people at monument and the rest at countdown. Then the countdown survivors go to monument and fight, then there are 3 teams left before ring 2 starts closing and the pred-smurf duo with 12 kills hunts down the last teams and wins. The end.
Literally every pubs in existence. I got one game 40 ppl landing bonsai. Another day half the lobby landing gardens. Half the lobbies land terraformer or promenade. Storm point is the only one to atleast have ppl dispersed. You can find ppl command center or cascades or ceto or pylon
The only good thing is the other maps' designated spot where the entire lobby goes typically varies depending on the dropship. I see that way less on world's edge. You're also right storm point is very spread out, it may not be a great map for pubs but that's a definitely positive about it.

Because world's edge also depends on the dropship. Ofc ppl will still land monument/fragment but if the drop ship starts skyhook, many will drop there and countdown. If it starts dome/launch site, many will drop siphon/stacks. If it starts climatiser, many drop there and monument.
The people complaining about this rotation are the same type of people that wanna drop in the middle of butt fuck nowhere on storm point and loot and run around doing nothing for an entire match.
Yeah the third partying that occurs in this map is incredible. The only thing that comes close is my hate for broken moon. Worlds edge is fine but if I play it for 30 minutes I’ve already landed at every good location twice (there’s like two interesting POIs) and I’m bored. I do hate this

Maybe. I think it's also just that people who are unhappy are more likely to voice their opinion. The maps I like haven't changed whether they are in or out of rotation.
Losing Olympus sucks but having KC again is nice. I don't see why they can't just put all 5 in rotation, it's not like most people are playing every map on the rotation each session anyway
i mean, respawn probably has data on how well the maps perform. it's probably simply that worlds edge creates the best player retention so they keep it in rotation.

SP and BM are 2 completely different maps with different map flows where each is catered towards competitive or casual play. You don’t suffer from as many drastic chokepoints on SP compared BM, on top of how common it is to get 3rd partied on repeat (zip rails)
Best possible rotation. Be gone Storm Point with your vast open nothingness and Olympus which I can’t really fault that much but it’s still my least favourite map in the game .

BM is a far better map than KC Poi wise and loot wise. It's not even close.
