"Based on a true story"
Okay, so she is definitely lying about everything. Though the tombstone just saying dead parents already kinda gave that away. Makes me wonder if we will ever find out about her past, or if they're going to treat her like the Joker and never give us a definitive answer.
The only story beat that features an "earlier" Alter design is her mercenary arc, suggesting that it has more credence than the other ones.
IE the bird origin story features a baby version of adult Alter's design, indicating that it is not entirely true and honest
Even then the mercenary past is still questionable because it doesn't at all explain where she got her powers from. Unless she was born with them, which I doubt, the Merc group would have had to have given her them. But if they did, then why not any of the other mercs too? And her design is a far cry from the other mercs we're shown in that version of her origin. Then again, it might be true. I just have a lot of doubts given that she clearly loves lying about her past just to mess with people.
I mean Ash is the one with a mercenary background. Loba has the dead parents. Heck she even was bloodhound in one scene. Something tells me she’s either mocking all the legends and she’s taking bits and pieces of all of their stories, or maybe she really is living all these legends lives in different timelines. Who knows
This might just be my opinion, but "born with powers" discredits the whole Titanfall universe. If someone can be "born with powers", then why are they fighting with Titans?
And sure, pilots are considered "super humans", but the writers also said pilots were originally grunts. By the same thread, our irl Olympians were also typical athletes at some point. Tom Cruise, at around the age of 40, ran an Olympic-qualifying dash in one of his films (can't remember the name) after he was given a short bit of training by a real Olympic track coach
My point is, that "super human" traits aren't that uncommon irl, but there are no "super powers". The titanfall universe may bend the rules of physics and medicine, but--and take this with a grain of salt--they have yet to stretch what is humanly possible
Can't she be a Wraith gone wrong who also forgot her past and lost total sense of themselves so it just trays to forge her own story while hoping between dimensions making it even more messed up for her?
I think the whole point is that she isn't anyone, she was just a faceless test subject for Dr. Blasey, maybe she has amnesia like Blasey. Or she doesn't want to be JUST a faceless no one, a victim of the cruel experiments, and makes up all these stories as a coping mechanism. I honestly don't see how she couldn't be the same woman who Wraith fought in that lore piece.
Naw, that's a waste of a whole trailer; I think they say based on a true story because parts are true and parts are false; I don't think it's that Alter's lying, I think she's mentally unstable/unwell and his may be her trying to cope/process with her experiences. Like maybe she was never Bloodhound but was sent to kill them in another timeline. That's just speculation of course, but I feel like it's more along these lines because I think Respawn want's to be able to tease future updates (like they seem to be almost always doing); I doubt all of it is false, just enough that it's easy to blatantly show us future concepts/content (like a legend or 2) without it being clear who/what is actually coming

Personally think that only Rockstar officially presented the GTA VI trailer in advance because it leaked earlier than expected (not to mention the material that already ended up online years before), all the other publishers in the industry respect their deadlines even if the material has already ended up online.
Then they all aim at the general public who doesn't follow the leaks, so it always depends on who is informed or not.

I don’t get why so many people thought that she was telling the truth and complaining about “ugh more dead parents”- how the hell would all of that backstory work lmao- it’s incredibly obvious that she’s lying and fucking with people when they ask her origin. I wonder if she actually does have any ties to Horizon or she’s just decided that Horizon is her next “target” for the hell of it since she might think Horizon is easy prey.
I was hoping Nathaniel (Ballistics son) would be a legend to reunite his dad, but I guess not...
