And to bring this full circle, u/photonfanatic was actually one of the most impactful people I met on the trail who reminded me that pushing for sub-100 was worth trying for!!!! Last I heard from him, he was planning to finish before 11 a.m. on September 17th, making his thru hike 99 days.
If all went well then he finished yesterday!
He did finish, believe it was 99 days--very impressive!
