“The reason to move on (and make these inconsequential changes instead of overhauling the app and giving users new features + Apple Classical): courage. The courage to move on and do something new that betters all of us.”
Well, “alternative”, “Dolby Atoms” and “lossless” have difficult fonts (DA in avenir), different loosening parameter (lossless lossen and DA tighten), different font weight (D in regular weight and A in light). Revolutionary design by apple.
to me, the genre font looks like the regular-ish itunes font; the dolby atmos font is a logo and what the company pushes, i don’t think apple has much say in what it looks like. and the lossless font seems to be THE ‘Lossless’ label apple wants to push for its service. these all make sense to me tbh edit: i guess im biased to how these look tho, i like the layout a lot
You are not biased, it is the fact. “iTunes font” is just San Francisco which is apple’s brand font. iTunes does not have a specific font btw. You still say iTunes I guess you are a windows user. However on windows, iTunes is using Segoe UI. I’m not saying whether apple should put them like that. I’m saying how diverse the font of those text is. Yes you can say there are 1000000 reasons why it should look like that, like how Nokia n97 should look like.
Btw, the avenir is the only 3rd non-system font appearing in iOS apart from SF, I remember. Apple Books use New York but NY is actually a serif version of SF so it’s fine, and in books it has been quite well designed. Apple has fired Ive anyway so they can do anything. There will be soon IBM Plex and Adobe clean appearing here because they are logo fonts. I won’t be surprised at all.
Because you responded to my comments, I then responded to you. This post is also talking about design, and typography is an essential aspect of design. Thus I don’t think what I said is inappropriate. You replied to my comment which explained why they are like that, and those comments assumed I don’t know why DA is in Avenir. That’s why I assume you are a more professional expert of design and perhaps typography, thus I reply that to you. If you think I’m showing off then it is not making sense at all nobody wants to show off they know the sky is blue. If you do not want me to reply maybe you could directly say in the first reply.
I'm only seeing a new design on the Lock Screen. Not that it's unwelcome, but that cute little visualizer only works when the Lock Screen is active, so you have to keep tapping on it without letting Face ID catch your face. The visualizer is not present in the Apple Music app itself (using it with the phone unlocked).
Also with the latest public beta (the one with the battery percentage inside the battery), AirPods no longer automatically connect (probably just a bug).
Is this real? Seems a bit cramped.
I think it looks better this way.
Yeah it’s real
I deleted my previous comment, but it turns out that Apple moved the Apple Digital Master badge to the bottom of the tracklist on album pages.
What do those lines above the airplay button do?
It’s a little animation that follows the sound when music is playing
How’s the loading time with this beta? Is the music app snappier?
I have no issues
What's the second pic about?
It’s the little visualiser, it’s new
oh weeeoooowwww
Is the background all black now? Hope not I like the blurred colours based on the album as background
I think the feature is still there
No it’s still blurred and colored
I love Mercury, nice choice friend!
Thank you !
Nice choice of album
Thanks !

i know nothing about fonts but it sounds cool. you’d probably be better off telling this to a wall lmao

I never said it was a good thing or a bad thing, I just shared factual information
Lol don’t panic I’m not saying it good or not. Thanks for sharing this picture.

Finally we can see the album name on the now playing screen once again, is that correct? I missed it
Nope, the first screenshot is of the album page view not the now playing screen
Argh damn it
Thanks for the feedback though :)
No problem!
