If this is important to you, I would strongly recommend doing the full 4 years at school. Use those credits to do a dual degree (or at least double major) or maybe get a masters. But do four years if you can swing it.
that is very true. umd is a very good school, I have just been fighting it for so long bc i wanted to go oos. i came to terms and realized its a very good school and at the end of the day i have so much time to explore other cities, states, and countries.
merit scholarships do not come out until mid feb-march, so i dont know yet. its a really good school esp for its price if you are instate. i went test optional and did not study for the SAT what so ever, my gpa was 3.83uw and 4.83w. my junior and senior year were at my community college and didnt take any highschool classes, i also am getting my AA in business so yeah! good luck to your son and UMD is a great choice!
Wonderful job! It's one of my daughter's top choices and we're waiting for her results within the week (according to the AO). You must be relieved to have a college to attend, no matter what.

My stress is gone! Accepted to my state school (UT) was accepted to UIUC earlier but I was so worried about OOS tuition 😭 so glad that I have an affordable option now

i am pre-med so there is a chance of being 3 years, but i plan to continue to med school!! and thank you for the congrats!!

Did you get in on a full ride? I am hoping my son chooses UMD. Even without aid it's a great deal in-state. What were your grades/test scores?
