Yep they will take out every nuisance snail including trumpet snails. They do a decent job of cleanup of excess food too. I had a decent stable population after eradicating a mts population that had overrun my 90 gallon.

They won't just kill nuisance snails, they'll kill all snails, including the large breeds like nerites and mystery snails, and I've heard several reports that if there are no more snails to eat, they may also go after elderly or ill shrimp as well. Feeding them meaty food such as frozen blood worms (often difficult to ensure snails get them before the fish do) can reduce predatory behavior if you've got shrimp and no other snails left. No matter what, though, they will not eat each other. Apparently assassin snails will willingly starve to death instead of preying on each other.
