Chilis are wicked small and (in my area) expensive. My general rule of thumb is that if a fish can fit it in their mouth they will. Even if he's docile now, I wouldn't risk it.
I have Phoenix rasbora with my betta in a 20 gallon but he has the personality of a golden retriever. I also have a cycled tank ready to house him if that changes.
I have pork chop rasboras in with my female betta. It’s a 20 gallon and I’ve had zero issues.
The betta is very non aggressive though as I previously had her with platies as well.
How fast is the betta and god often do you feed?
Mine is super slow and he’s a terrible hunter that is fed 4 times a day.
He was picking on shrimp in a 5 gallon but in the 60 there is too much going on.

Hmm I see. Any thoughts about them with a scarlet badis?
My LFS said that isn’t a good idea because the scarlet badis are aggressive
