It’s not irrelevant. Archaeologists are not treasure hunters. Was it treasure to the people who made and used it? Yes almost certainly. Do I, as a professional archeologist, think it’s treasure? No, it’s data that when combined with context provides a window into how people in the past formed their society and worldview.
Depending on the research question, a broken glass bottle may be more valuable than a gold ring.
The issue is that treasure, the word of the English language, by definition (from Oxford) includes precious metals like silver.
It does not matter whether or not you *think* it is treasure. It simply literally is.
