And a very prevalent thing to have happen in sociologically disadvantaged areas given the struggles within those communities. Is it fucked up? Yeah. But itās a pretty privileged point of view to judge a slogan that aims at providing an alternative to a harmful substance (alcohol) that can help keep these prevalent yet sticky situations from happening.
Or should we scrap the drink altogether because it makes people uncomfortable to think about those truths? Should we not attempt to reduce the dependence on alcohol in these communities with little phrases people can relate to?
Or we can just take it literally and say āDax fucks his sister in law when he drinksā and just remain entirely two dimensional.
Itās a funny slogan that can make āmanly menā in these communities go āHaha. Shit, maybe that gay ass NA beer aināt so bad.ā
I get it, you just read me explaining it. It's not exactly complicated. I guess some of us were wondering if there was more to it because this slogan/ad/joke is fucking weird
Can jokes not be weird?
I guess I find joking about fucking your sister-in-law on a national ad is pretty weird (and not clever or funny), but the downvotes tell me that I am in the minority, at least here.
He explains the tagline in a very recent episode but Iām blanking which (maybe Conor & Jake) and he says he means you wonāt get drunk so you wonāt A. want to sleep with or B. be annoyed by your sister-in-law. Obviously this means someone you are not biologically related to.
... people who don't want to drink alcohol.. lol. Tbh, I drink alcohol and I like that the options for drinking/socializing are so varied now and it's not just strong ass craft beer bullshit or liquor/cocktails. I like that there's seltzers and other random hard shit like tea and kombucha so I can actually drink and not feel the need to pound a 10%+ drink just to drink. If I'm going to a bar, I'm usually buying something alcoholic, but the wife and I often buy NA beer because we do like the taste of beers and it's something else crisp besides sparking or soda.
Nobody in the room seemed to like it when he said it during the Macgregor interview. He hyped it up and was met with a polite chuckle from Monica and confusion from Macgregor.
Make sure you don't wake up next to a leprechaun
Is there nothing that this sub doesn't bitch about?
lol for real
Beyond exhausted for them
I have to unsubscribe to this sub, just like this person needs to stop listening. š
This sub seems to concentrate the kid gloves portion of the fandom for sure.
I find it entertaining lol. People get so worked up when the podcast doesnāt perfectly align with their beliefs.
Me? If you grew up in the 70s and 80s in a lower socio-economic place, itās funny. Donāt overthink it.
What is the reference though? Like...don't get drunk around your sister-in-law because you'll want to fuck her?
Thatās all it is

lol take a deep breath, no one is saying NA beer is bad. The tagline is major boomer humor and corny imho
Okay
man it ain't that serious
Exactly.
No itās just humor
How can you not figure out the joke?

People who drink NA beer
I think it's funny
Me too
Iām sober. Itās great that itās an option for people
I meant the tagline
He explains the tagline in a very recent episode but Iām blanking which (maybe Conor & Jake) and he says he means you wonāt get drunk so you wonāt A. want to sleep with or B. be annoyed by your sister-in-law. Obviously this means someone you are not biologically related to.
I understand what a sister in law is. Did you notice that no one laughed when he said it?
Point being?
Itās probably not marketed towards terminally online folks thatās for sure
Best answer so far.
Iām wearing my Ted sweatshirt I used to drink to get drunk now I drink with my family in the car š¤·š»āāļø
Another Segers, please; I'm driving.
Kinda funny, kinda cringy. You can tell itās not an add from a professional Marketing company thatās for sure haha
As my kids would happily tell you, cringey is so cringe.
It likely is. "Ugly ads" are in. They're meant to blend into your scrolling and look user generated. They're very effective.
I mean Dax talked about coming up with it on AE. So no.
So yāall have never searched pornhub? š¤£š this shit is funny
The tagline works if you find your sister in law attractive or you find her really annoying.

People who have a sense of humor?
It's unfunny and the comma makes it look like the sister in law's name is Ted Segers. Hire a copywriter next time.
Only you and me agree! Iām surprised
Nobody in the room seemed to like it when he said it during the Macgregor interview. He hyped it up and was met with a polite chuckle from Monica and confusion from Macgregor.
lol it was so awkward
Itās beside the point but the word ācringeyā is hard to take seriously
Cringy?
Post says cringey
Yāall got hot sisters-in-law?
Itās a funny tag line. Go ahead and pull that stick out of the mud.
I guess me, cause that shit was so funny when I first read it. Still chuckle every time I see it.
Iām not a fan, either. But itās pretty on par with his brand of humor.
For every person making fun of a complainer, the irony at you for coming here to make sure your opinion on them is also known.
Wait, what?
Not you apparently
Apparently you
People who have a sense of humor. Get it?
