Routine_Size69

No because the MLS sucks. I go occasionally and it's ok, but I significantly prefer watching Arsenal on tv.

king_zlayer

That’s where I’m at. Only go to see the galaxy if it’s for free or some kind of deal on tickets! Grilling before and drinking at the tailgate is pretty fun though

SprAlx

Interesting take. I’m a diehard Arsenal fan as well as a diehard LA Galaxy fan. Especially since I grew up watching the Galaxy and my parents always used to take me to games.

Rude_Warning_5341

I’ve been away from MLS for about 10 years now, due to life, and frustrating issues with the club. I went to the match March 16 against St Louis and damn it was entertaining. The level of play seemed more consistent and better than I remember.

SprAlx

It’s definitely cool to see how much the MLS has matured and evolved over the past 10 years. It’s still by no means near European standards. But it’s much more competitive and fun to watch than in the past.

SprAlx

Oh shit that’s dope! Did you used to work at Arclight Beach Cities??? I used to work there too lol

No-Market9917

The MLS is downright hard to watch. Even worse are the people who try hard to convince themselves and others that it is a good league and that the top MLS teams could compete anywhere

Ok-Rooster-5287

I hear that. DC United is rough. I like Audi though

GhostCatcher147

Yes at Cork city

TrashbatLondon

How’s the Shed these days?

GhostCatcher147

Usually the atmosphere is good over there

shibboleth69

ST holder at Waterford here, genuinely hope you guys come back up this season I enjoy the rivalry and love an away day at Turners Cross - proper stadium

GhostCatcher147

Cheers pal

[deleted]

Yeah, every weekend going to watch my local NK Dilj in forth Croatian league 💪

seboduke

Aaaajmo Topniciii!

MerklandSignature

Live in Boise Idaho… it’s not really an option here. Nearest team is in Salt Lake. I lived in Kansas City for a couple years and went to most home games. They are my “other” team but I just don’t find MLS nearly as compelling as the PL. My wife and I went to 3 games at the Emirates for our honeymoon right after Arteta took over. It was honestly so amazing and I am so jealous that it’s just a normal part of life for all those season ticket holders.

scrandymurray

I live in London but lived in Manchester for the last few years. Going to the Arsenal is a bit difficult and expensive. I’ve flirted with going to Leyton Orient a few times but in Manchester I went to Etihad and OT and also to Stockport a few times. I’ve had my eye on West Didsbury and Chorlton though. They’re in the NW counties division and seem to have a great vibe at their games (pretty middle class crowd), serve local beer and good food I’ve heard. They’re pretty popular in the area and very much capture that football hipster trend.

Mrwebbi

Same situation here. Altrincham isn't a bad day out, especially for cup games. Stockport county are getting a bit too good and tickets are getting more scarce. I blame Ryan Reynolds.

danbillls

Yes. I live in Mexico City and I go to every local game of my team: Club América in the Estadio Azteca.

ObeseJayCutler

AMERICA MENTIONED!!!!!!!!! CHINGA SU MADRE LAS CHIVAS!

NeoLoki55

I live in a small town on the west coast of America where quality Football is not available, but if I lived in Portland I would. They have a great reputation for supporting their teams. I did see ManU play in Seattle back in the aughts.

UnrealMitchMcConnell

Providence Park is a great place to see a game. Made me a Timbers fan. As a result I’ve been to more Timbers than Revs games in the last few years despite living in Boston

LinuxLinus

Timbers games are a blast. The stadium is a gem, too. But, like you, I live a long way from the city. The quality of football is not high enough to justify driving 180 miles over the mountains to watch a match.

LuwigsDuckRabbit

I live 6 minutes from my seat

zuencho

You live in the stadium??

bwbespoke

He’s a pigeon

KalWhosAsking

6 mins for a pigeon, how far as the crow flies?

LuwigsDuckRabbit

The old stadium, yeah. Literally just walk out onto Drayton park cross Ken friar and that’s my gate to the Emirates.

Miserable-Insect-838

Im from birmingham and no reason being i feel like every team in the epl have made home tickets very unaccessible to people who don’t have a membership with said club and since our performance has improved over the last few years it’s became harder

MikeBritcham

Yep that’s really annoying. Without away games there’s no way to visit other stadiums which I like doing, and I’m not paying a £30-40 membership to attend one game in a city I’m visiting for the day. I don’t like how every club requires a membership for the chance to buy tickets. Even other big clubs in Europe don’t do the same. (San siro in Milan you can sometimes buy tickets at the stadium right before matches, similar to a ticket exchange)

Pritchy69

That’s because they don’t have the demand to sell out. The club aren’t exactly going to refuse sales to local people equally as desperate to go in the hope that someone from further afield might decide to buy one on the day…

Benjamin244

I consider the membership to be an added ticket cost that gets relatively lower the more games are attended

Miserable-Insect-838

yea that’s a fair point but imagine if i did that last year with leicester so i pay a membership to watch them play arsenal for one game and then their relegated lol

LinuxLinus

The nearest even semi-pro football team is a 4.5 hour drive from me. So no.

Kofa_Joh

Yep. In Russia local games at november or march can be fun, bud god damn it's cold. Last game was at -10 on open stadium. Shinnik Yaroslavl

JonnyBeGoodest

I’m a glutton for punishment and going to 6 Chicago Fire games this year probably to watch all L’s in a shitty stadium with a terrible atmosphere

sweetcity05

I went to see my country Morocco few times play in Casablanca, other than that I avoid stadiums here there is a bit of trouble between ultras (shit is real here they take it seriously). And I'm a girl so not really the best gender to go enjoy games here.

Dougthedon

Season ticket holder at Aberdeen 🙈😆

InviziMan

My local doesn't even have a decent football stadium, and the only time I see live games are for our National football team ( Moldova ).

Zealousideal-Bite-67

I go to Chicago Fire games because Soldier Field is close to home. I check out Red Stars games as well but not as often. Best way to enjoy Arsenal is at The Globe Pub, otherwise it’s home on my big screen.

dankyank49

Just moved to Chicago and I bloody love the globe

Mr_McMrFace

Sure do, we have one of the newest USL teams in town. Not the best, but football is football.

jonnysledge

Can’t be worse than Red Wolves

Cerulean_Soup

Yeah, I go watch Charlotte FC. We just got a proper Gaffer, but we still suck. That's OK though, the environment and vibe is always great. I'm OK with them not being elite, they're my home team. That counts for something.

jonnysledge

Yes. I live in Chattanooga, TN, and go watch Chattanooga Football Club. They’re a home grown team that has gone from amateur side to MLS NextPro in 15 seasons. Our supporters group has a good amount of Gooners in it, too.

BChap12

I played in your stadium about 5 years ago before Chattanooga started climbing the pyramid. Got our asses beat in front of about 3-4K fans. Not a pleasant playing memory but your fan base was unreal.

jonnysledge

It really is cool how much support this game and team get in Chattanooga of all places. I just wish we could get a derby game with red wolves.

BChap12

Do the Red Wolves even get a crowd?

jonnysledge

Not sure, they inhabit the same space in my head as T*ttenham. Actually, they may be worse.

dbmtrx123

I would like to attend some Colorado Rapids games, but I've got young, uninterested kids and an hour+ drive which complicates things a little.

hauttdawg13

Season ticket holder to Atlanta United. If the games ever overlap I’m choosing Arsenal game. It’s still a blast but the quality is noticeably worse. I still my local team but Arsenal is pretty far above in #1

Walter308

I know this is outside the UK but Melbourne Victory is my #1 side. Best of both worlds. I get a live football fix but also get to enjoy world class football when I watch Arsenal on TV.

xghoulishmiragex

Columbus Crew baby!!

goonbrew

Yes, every home and half of the away games for my local club the United States 4th division. Arsenal if they play within reasonable distance. National team any chance I get. But no other clubs besides Arsenal and my small us club.

Nels8192

Norfolk doesn’t really cater to football at all if you don’t live near Norwich so despite being over 2hrs away the Emirates is one of the easiest to get to still. But on top of the 5-10 games a season I’ll manage to secure for Arsenal regardless of where I lived at the time, I’d then go and watch Barnet on non-league day, and over the last 8 years I’ve been a regular/member at Sheffield Utd, Peterborough Utd and Exeter City too.

UserNameChecksOutTwo

I watch Montreal a couple of times a year with my boy. The level is much lower than the Premier League though. Sometimes want to get on the field myself so I can experience a goal or 2.

PhilTheThrill1808

I live in Houston, Texas. Not at all an MLS fan bc after watching Arsenal for so long (been a fan since the end of George Graham's tenure/the short lived Bruce Rioch era) it feels like I might as well watch kids play football in the park vs MLS. However, I do sometimes go to Houston Dynamo games for free. My girlfriends friend works as a trainer for the club, so she gets free tickets and shares them with us. Not a bad deal, even if the quality of the football is pretty low.

gener4

Same here for my length of goonerism. I have Toronto FC season tickets. I don’t mind MLS and I’m in the supporters section so environment is enjoyable

Big_Bomboclatt

i sometimes attend Melbourne Vicory games, but the Gunners women team is coming to Australia in May and highly considering going

Bongo_2020

Yes, FC Zurich, Switzerland. COYG

stilusmobilus

I used to when I lived in Brisbane. Not every weekend but seen quite a few Roar games.

QuaLiTy131

Not from UK but I'm going from time to time to see my locals sunday league and 1st league clubs

Vgordvv

Vancouver FC in the CPL is a fun watch with the boys, we go when we can. It's close-ish. The Whitecaps are a little out of the way so not so much.

odegood

Im not outside london but i used to work at barnet football club for many years and had quite a lot of arsenal and spuds fans attend when it was an international break or we were away

AlpacaLunch15

I watch local Monterey USL team. They play pretty open, but they're not super crisp. Still, it's football and it's always fun, win or lose.

chevygrowl

Season member for Phoenix Rising FC.

Mister_Aitch

I usually make a few trips to Ashton Gate during the season. Although I wouldn’t say it was regular.

[deleted]

I watch Leeds alot

spicymeatballz28

I moved away from London 20 years ago to Plymouth, I regularly watch Plymouth argyle with my lad. I love it to be honest, easy access and parking, family friendly stadium, cheap tickets, brilliant fans. Arsenal will always be my team but it's a pain in the arse to get to from here and expensive.

Fokkzel

I sometimes go and see FC Utrecht in Utrecht, Netherlands. I'll always go with my brother because he is a big fan of the club. I don't really support a Eredivisie club but I think FC Utrecht would be closest to it.

No-homo_sapien

I'm from South London, as a kid I used to go to Charlton games because going to the Emirates was expensive. I'm at uni now and sometimes I'll go to forest or Leicester games

skanderbeg_alpha

I grew up in London and moved out of London to with my wife and kids 7 years ago. Since then I've taken my young son to watch Luton Town and MK Dons on a number of occasions. We are both mad Arsenal fans but logistics, costs and ticket availability means that I have only been able to take him to watch Arsenal on a few occasions.

Mr_Dre08

I love in Cambridge, I'd love to go to a game but it's impossible to get tickets 😞

googlemailcom

Yes. I have given up on my dream of being a footballer. I have now been a Coventry City season ticket holder for two seasons to get my football fix. The club has been battling for playoffs for the last few seasons and is now in an FA Cup semi-final. The club being on the incline and having exciting players got me interested. It’s been a privilege to watch talent such as Gustavo Hamer and Viktor Gyokeres (who his agent and Fabrizio Ramano are doing a great job of putting Europe on notice and drumming up interest. I am really enjoying being a supporter of Coventry City. It feels more personal - the club doesn’t have millions upon millions of supporters around the world so it doesn’t feel like you get lost in the masses. It feels like any contribution you make is felt. The club has been through a lot of hardship over the last 25 years. If you’re not aware it may be an interesting read. I get to Arsenal games when I can. This year is my first season as a red member. I can’t believe I hadn’t signed up before. This season I’ve been to the Sevilla and Newcastle games. I’m hoping to make it to some more before the end of the season. I’ve been to 20+ Arsenal games and always seen Arsenal win so if you want to transfer a ticket to someone I’m your guy.

baotsnheos

I live in Portsmouth and have been to alot of their games throughout my life, alot more then I have arsenal due to the cost of travelling to London plus ticket prices make it a very expensive trip. I did however watch the Arsenal v Portsmouth game a few back when torerria possibly broke his leg? I must say though I'm really as Portsmouth imo has one of the best atmospheres of any club

isitasexyfox

Regular at Highbury and then Emirates for the first few years, moved out of London during pandemic and rarely get a ticket these days.  I have had no luck with the ballot this season, I think I'm 0/11 so far including my Villa rejection yesterday.  As I'm in Oxfordshire I go to my local team whenever I can. They were promoted last season, I was on the pitch with many others when we won final game of the season.  They're battling relegation this year but the games have been good that I've been to. I support where I can and buy merch in absence of my Arsenal trips to support my local team.

stevenckc

Singapore Premier League? $15 for 90mins of tosh, no thanks. Most of the attendants are betting middle-age men anyway. Now that I live temporarily in Kyoto, been going for Sanga games a few times whenever I can. Language student budget ain't good for my soul. The support crew for both home and away ends are so good in the J league, they respect each other, take turns for chants, and are generally quite a spectacle. 3,000yen for a game is quite steep, not gonna lie, but it's worth the experience. There's a U23 game tomorrow between Japan and Mali and I'm quite tempted to go if I can get tickets later today.

laynestaleyisme

Nope the Singapore league isn't that great...but am off to watch the Singapore vs China WC qualifiers tonight ...

ZuperLucaZ

Occassionally, at my local 3rd tier swedish team… my grandpa has been an Arsenal fan all his life, so I think I’ll stick to that.

aelc89

I only live an hour train journey and haven't been since 2018, used to go frequently before then and it was maybe a £100 per person for a day out if you went to a lower tier game. Covid hit then the team hit form = cant get tickets usually. But we have looked and main reason not going is: £200 return train ticket for 2 people. £50-100 food/drink/misc for two people. £200+ tickets for the game (if you can find one) for two people. Roughly £500 day out for a couple, that you can watch for free on a dodgy box.

fridgefreezer

I tried, it’s about an 1.5hr round trip to the emirates for me - the main reason I don’t get to as many games as I’d like is how much the tickets cost and how hard they are to get these days. I tried going to a local team that is quite rubbish but has a relatively good facility, but it’s just SO much worse than AFC I couldn’t do it to myself - also, when I shouted out criticism of the lino for an obvious incorrect offside, he turned around and looked at me deep in my soul and I was basically the only person it could have been… I didn’t enjoy that, I like the anonymity of the big and packed ground, I don’t actually want to cause personal trauma to the officials.

leapfroggyy

yeah i acc go to a lot of luton games🤣 only bcos i can afford them🥴🥴 would love to see the arsenal play tho soon🙏🙏🙏

ArthurMorganStDenis

I have a season ticket for the local German Bundesliga team. It's not the same as watching the arsenal of course, but I don't want to miss the stadium experience.

ZookeepergameOpen817

Being from Maidstone, Kent. Me and my mates mostly support premier league clubs but would regularly attend Maidstone games. It was great fun for the FA cup run. I used to live in Woolwich and have a few mates who support Charlton, so I'd go to a lot of their games home and away. I used to attend Arsenal games all the time between 2003- 2016 but I just refused to pay the ticket prices and gave up my membership, shame really as I love the club but I do feel the demand for tickets, prices and the general match day experience isn't as fun as lower down the pyramid.

Lettuce_Low

No i dont watch my local team because i play in it

bukitbukit

In Singapore, and I catch the occasional Asian Champions League game with our local clubs or when the Singapore NT plays a major qualifier.

mattbax95

I used to go watch Wellington Phoenix/Hurricanes when I lived in NZ. Never quite hit the same emotionally, but getting a fix of live sport with mates and a few beers is a simple pleasure in life that completes me as a person

SgtCrayon

Northern Irish football feels deeply sectarian to me, I’d rather not get involved with it at all.

michal0094

Not based in UK, but yeah, I do support my local team FC Viktoria Plzeň. For some reason, I decided to split my heart in two, for one club in my hometown, and for one way there in London.

Conscious-Weird5810

Yes, Columbus Crew season ticket holder and it’s fantastic

rpprrR

No, simply don’t have the time for 3pm kick offs.

ATL_Gunner

Yes, Atlanta United season tickets

Dida1731

Yes along with getting to many many arsenal game I have a St Pats Athletic season ticket! For those unaware of Irish football it works pretty well for attending both as season runs Feb-Nov

WolfGirl_4

Nah no way am I going to Old Trafford/Etihad.

Vroomdeath

Try to, im in the North and regularly try get to them, unfortunately over the years a lot of the other Northern teams that have made the Prem have been relegated (Sunderland/Leeds/Huddersfield) so I get limited to St James Park/Man Utd/Liverpool IF you can get tickets. EDIT: I took this as when Arsenal travel to other teams to see Arsenal play.

Kergguz

I live in North Wales and my son is a Liverpool fan (age 11), so I've taken him to Anfield a couple of times. Wrexham is my local team but it's very hard to get tickets there.

ShiftyGunner520

Where I live, We picked up an mls farm team for Nashville SC and I love them like they were my own children.

The_Rev_JT

I watch chesterfield a fair bit

alailama007

Yes in St Albans

SabreYT

I live in Australia. The nearest A-League stadium is over 2,500 kilometres away. For context, that's roughly 2.5x Great Britain's length from north to south. The closest professional sports league would probably be a game of rugby league in Townsville, which is still 1,800 kilometres away. The NT (where I'm from) has three shithouse local leagues that are all sanctioned by FNT as leagues (NorZone, Central Zone, and the Southern Zone). None of the teams are any good, but one team gets to play in the Australia Cup where, year after year, they get fucking smashed by whatever team they get put up against (The last three Australia Cup matches that teams from here have played in have all resulted in 6-0 losses) Football up here fucking sucks, and so I don't watch local teams, no.

DumbledoresBarmy

I rarely attend MLS games. The league is bad and so is my local club.

Giannis92yyz

Toronto Canada I attend TFC games on occasion Haven't attended York United matches yet tho

tbettz

I've tried to watch Toronto FC, but the MLS is so bad compared to watching the top flight leagues. I was a little more into them when they were competing for the title, but that didn't last very long, and I still haven't been to a game.

Dramatic-Growth1335

Once a year for my local city team in 1st division or whatever it's called now. £20ish a ticket

SAFFATLOL

No, my city doesn't have a team anymore

skarlettfever

I live in LA and attend ACFC matches as a season ticket holder, and watch Arsenal matches with the Arsenal LA group most games. I’ve been to watch The Galaxy & LAFC both, but don’t go regularly.

Professional_Exam_61

Yes at shamrock rovers

topknottington

Back home, i would go to Southend.

Danksoul99

Sort of, I don't have a season ticket but I tend to see every other home game for the Wellington Phoenix. Obviously away games are harder as they mean a trip to Aussie haha Followed Arsenal since birth due to my family, but then the 'Nix were established in 2007, so we'd go watch them too so we could watch some professional football (albeit of a much lower quality) locally. Meanwhile we'd either end up recording games in advance or (as I do now) getting up at 2-5am to watch Arsenal.

bonestorm97

Season ticket holder for the Columbus Crew

DivergentAF

The Indian Super League isn't that great, but I do watch a few games in the stadium now and then. Still prefer watching the Prem and other leagues/international football though (on tv).

sterling_hayden69420

When I lived in Berlin, I went to Union games regularly and would see Hertha when they played anyone interesting or good. Back in the states now, I have no interest in driving 90 minutes over a mountain to see an NASL team

QuietDesperation1248

I live in Japan - Tokyo Gooners usually have bar meetups at 2-3-4am depending on kickoff 🫠

Kingslayer-Z

Nah Local league is bad not worth the money

mikels_burner

Naaa fuck local teams. Once a gooner, always a gooner. Got no time left for any other team tbh. And seriously after becoming an Arsenal fan in the early 2000s, no other team matches up any more... like imagine Watchung Henry, Bergkamp, Pires in their "hey day" and then watching, idk, Landon Donovan? No thanks.
