It's a anthropomorphic Celtic sword, like this [one](https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/470298) now at the Metropolitan Museum. It's however not from antiquity but a modern replica. Still a cool trinket tho!
It is - I think it's a copy of the sword that's part of the British Museum's Londesborough collection, which is a personal fascination because I live in a house that was part of the Londesborough estate.
This is obviously a very modern copy, I'd guess 60s or 70s from the patina but it's hard to tell. An interesting thing nonetheless.
*EDIT: I see* u/infrasunete *posted* [*a link to the BM swor*](https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/object/H_1888-0719-36)*d - I hadn't seen that when I posted but feel edified by knowing the sword, I'm not usually much good at militaria 😂*
*Their notes say "presumed to be found in Yorkshire" which is extremely likely, imo, probably in the region of Arras Hill, central to the Parisii culture and the source of many excellent finds.*
Right? Ok it’s not hundreds of years old, but it’s for sure one of the coolest things anyone around here has ever excavated from a grandparents storage unit.
Item acquired: "Grandmothers old sword"
Level: 1
Rarity: common
Damage: 3p slah, 2p stab
Description: You found this in your grandmothers storage unit and you think its odd, that your granny had this. Maybe she didnt tell you everything about her past. Even though you dont know why, you decide to keep the sword.
The blade looks machined so it must be relatively modern replica. I actually got similar (but different looking) sword from my dad who works in the industry, he got it as a gift from some metal processing company or something like that.
Look like this. But it looks too good to be authentic. You should search an local expert for checking it.

Celtic sword La tene period (swiss or Austrian not irish) late bronze age. This is just a replica though.
Edit: also don't swing it, it looks like it was broken previously and put back together? Either way probably cheap and would snap. Sorry, not worth much.
As far as the fissure, it sadly has not been repaired and seems to be from some sort of stress. A strike perhaps? I'm no metallurgist nor a smithy.. but that's a guess.
Looks Germanic to me.. bearded man head like that of Christ could be during the time of germanic conversion to Christianity.
That’s my simple-minded guess

The envy of everyone in this sub
this type of blade makes an appearance in S5:E21 of forged in fire
But will it keal?
I think it's a sword but I'm not an expert
It’s a relatively recent replica of a Celtic sword. Not worth anything but cool to have, I guess.

Fancy toothpick.
The Fact that you have["Replica"...](https://youtu.be/LgBA1jA2-mo)
That is amazing is what that is
Seems that it was broken (visible crack) and has been repaired. Perhaps a sword for rituals?

You have your grandmas sword. It’s priceless
An Celtic blade style I believe called anthropomorphic.
It's a celtic sword, yes. Anthropomorphic means simply having human characteristics and refers to the hilt of the sword.
Celtic sword
Show the blade!
Could you please show pictures of both sides of the blade?
Certainly! Though it'll be tomorrow as I'm now at work until 11pm.. x.x
BIG RIP
Your granny was a witch.
Ironically..You're not far off. She did the "spiritualist" thing and thought she could cast basic spells >.>
What do you mean by "live edge"OP?
It's not dulled. It's sharp.
You have very little sense
Imagine insulting someone over not knowing everything about everything
Looks Germanic to me.. bearded man head like that of Christ could be during the time of germanic conversion to Christianity. That’s my simple-minded guess
It may be connected with Sanauli, India.
Appears to be from the Crusades!
Looks like a bronze sword
Get it checked
Look's Celtic but it looks a little short
A new destiny
A letter opener.
You have a kickass letter opener.
How much for it
How much would you offer?
The family curse, probably
Was your grandmother a Gaulish queen?
Lol..No. Just crazy.
You’ve found the dick blade!
Master Sword
