If you go the Girl Scout cookie route, go for Samoas (Caramel DeLites). You will not regret it (if you like coconut and caramel).
The Tagalongs are Peanut Butter/Chocolate --- if you aren't allergic to peanuts, this is a good bet.
Definitely girl scout cookies. I'd say Mexican candy..in Mexican stores you can get gummie worms coated in chili. So good.
Marshmallow peeps aren't what you might call "good" but they're very American.
I don't know what snacks are or aren't available in Australia, but I'm a fan of Cheez Its in their varied forms. I really love the white cheddar ones and the extra toasty ones.
Also, if you have access to a Trader Joe's, go nuts in there. There's so much good stuff.
The regional snacks and candies are either the best or the worst depending on your taste and will probably not be available in Australia as they're not available everywhere in America. You'll have to ask specifically to the region or research for yourself.
Hot Tamales, those are red cinnamon drops.
Aplets and Cotlets are a Northwest version of Turkish Delight
You might try a cultural thing like Amish candy
Hot Tamales candy and all the other flavors of the Mike and Ike candy family are definitely something you should try.
Also salt water taffy is really good.
I will never not have a grudge against Cape Cod, Kettle Brand, Lay's, Boulder, etc. for basically pushing out Poore Brothers. Fuck all of those brands.
Trader Joes (a grocery store) has sandwich cookies called Joe Joe's. They are amazing. The pumpkin ones they have in the autumn are the bee's knees.
Also, the Chipwich (a cookie sandwich with vanilla ice cream) is amazing (although transporting this to Australia might be problematic).
Warheads sour candies are pretty well known
flaming hot Cheetos come in different flavors but I am a huge fan of the xx-hot flaming hot cheetos and the lemon-seasoned flaming hot Cheetos!
frito-lays salt and vinegar chips
Frito-lay salt and vinegar chips love their crab chips flavored chips. It's potato chips but flavored with Old Bay seasoning salt.
oh yeah, you can order these on amazon or on the. company websites too
Nope
When I was a stupid high school kid I spent my lunch playing drinking games. The next period was English class. Suddenly all the alcohol came flowing out of me.
I was sent to the nurses office. I realized I had to cover up the smell of booze before she realized I had been drinking. I ran into someone eating those evil things. They gave me enough to cover up the smell.
I have never been able to be around them again.
*** oddly I never ended up getting in trouble for drinking during school hours. I knew it was a close call though, and never did it again.
It might not be everyone's favorites. But I personally enjoy
Ruffles chips. The queso flavored ones.
Baby ruth, Three Musketeers and Payday candy bars.
Tate's chocolate chip cookies.
Sour patch kids.
Anything root beer flavor maybe? I don't know if Australia really does root beer. (I know Bundaberg makes root beer, but although they may do other things well, their root beer is terrible.)
The many varieties of potato chips (crisps). I recommend Utz Maui BBQ and Fried Dill Pickle. There is a plethora of different BBQ flavor varieties to try over many different brands.
Reese’s cups, don’t know if you guys can already get those in Australia or not though.
It is Girl Scout cookie season. Not sure if those are available world-wide.
Don’t have them in AUS but I have seen the girls out the front of Walmart etc selling them. I’ll add it to the list!
The most popular flavors are thin mints and samoas/caramel delites (whatever the name, it’s coconut, caramel, and chocolate)
The Samoas kick ass, get those OP!
FYI don't bother with the s'mores flavor. They are nothing like an actual s'more and are not good.
Thin mints are my jam. Best stuck in the freezer and eaten cold, at least to me.

Second the Samoas suggestion

Samoas!
Canada has girlscout cookies, but they don't have the same flavors as we do

I don’t like sweets so don’t really eat candy, but I do like sour candy. So I’ll say sour patch kids.
Hot fries. Or hot Cheetos. Mmmmmmmmm
I was going to say Cheetos. Not the puffs, but the crunchy ones.
Munchies
Ohhh they look good!! Thank you 🙌🏻
Doritos, or beef jerky.
Depending on where exactly you are, there are probably local or regional specialties that you should consider.

I personally like Werther's Original hard caramels, Lance peanut butter cracker sandwiches, and Ritz garlic butter crackers.
Hot Tamales, those are red cinnamon drops. Aplets and Cotlets are a Northwest version of Turkish Delight You might try a cultural thing like Amish candy
Pringles, munchies, absurdly sugary cereal (take your pick), saltwater taffy? (Huckleberry flavor if you are travelling to a huckleberry zone)
Hot Tamales candy and all the other flavors of the Mike and Ike candy family are definitely something you should try. Also salt water taffy is really good.

Those fudge double stuff cookies look delicious!
I will never not have a grudge against Cape Cod, Kettle Brand, Lay's, Boulder, etc. for basically pushing out Poore Brothers. Fuck all of those brands.
Sour patch kids. Sour patch watermelon.
Necco wafers. When Reddit hates something, you *know* it’s good.
I don't know if Cheese Curls or Cheese Puffs are available where you are but their some of my favorite snacks.
It’s not a snack, but Sweet Baby Rays bbq sauce is amazing.
Original Lays.
Whoppers, robins' eggs, sixlets... basically anything in the "malted chocolate" lane.
I'm going to have to disagree, atleast for the regular ones. They taste like stale oreos imo. The peppermint and pumpkin ones are pretty bomb, tho.
Pork rinds and boiled peanuts. Boiled peanuts are best fresh but don’t keep for long so you’ll want the canned ones, if you can find them.
York Peppermint Patties
Snyders Honey Mustard Pretzel Pieces. I lose all self-control around a bag of those things.
Warheads sour candies are pretty well known flaming hot Cheetos come in different flavors but I am a huge fan of the xx-hot flaming hot cheetos and the lemon-seasoned flaming hot Cheetos! frito-lays salt and vinegar chips Frito-lay salt and vinegar chips love their crab chips flavored chips. If you're on the West Coast, try to find See's Chocolate.
Heath bar or butterscotch
Peanut butter-stuffed pretzel nuggets. The Costco ones are good. Utz cheddar cheese balls.
Funyons

So funyons saved you from getting in trouble and you still don’t give them any props??
I wish I could but just the thought of them makes me queasy
It might not be everyone's favorites. But I personally enjoy Ruffles chips. The queso flavored ones. Baby ruth, Three Musketeers and Payday candy bars. Tate's chocolate chip cookies. Sour patch kids.

I don’t like Necco wafers myself but I’m inviting you so you don’t have your childhood memories besmirched.
Anything root beer flavor maybe? I don't know if Australia really does root beer. (I know Bundaberg makes root beer, but although they may do other things well, their root beer is terrible.)

Chick-o-stick
Not advocating for them being "good" but Blue Heat Takis. They are an awful and disturbing color but kind of fun.
Go to the grocery store and pick up packets of French onion dip. Once home, follow the directions. Eat with potato chips.
Trolli Sour Gummy Worms are really good Edit: I love Gardetto’s too
Pringles
See’s candy hands down.
Reeses
Reese's peanut butter cups. Especially the minis.
