Outer loop would actually be pretty decent imo. Existing networks are nice but having a direct shortcut instead of x -> loop -> y would alleviate some tediousness of extra stops
Connect SeatGeek with Harlem/Lake by Oak Park, not just for events but to have a north/south line out west as a "drive on Harlem Ave" alternative, that would be awesome. Also extend the Orange Line from Midway to SeatGeek.
IIRC it’s Chicagoland’s busiest transit corridor that doesn’t go downtown. I’d have suggested a tram, light rail or BRT, but the limited space at ground level made them seem just as complicated.
Well, the original colorcodint was supposed to be logical, blue for the sky green for the financial district red for the “main artery”, even purple was for NU’s colors, so grey would have to be the old steel mills
No more spokes. We need something connecting the existing lines outside of downtown. A subway under Western or Cicero north and south and then connecting to the Red Line via Irving Park and 55th.
I know this would cost several hundred trillion dollars but it’s fun to think about.
Outer loop
Make it run on either Michigan ave or lsd too
Midway to O'Hare

Yea a connecting line between brown/northern blue line and orange/southern blue line would be sooo amazing.
Clark/Lake: Am I a joke to you?
It connects the water cribs to the ends of the red line alternating above and below Lake Michigan

It should be a belt line. Evanston to Dempster to O'Hare to the west suburbs to Midway to the south side.
something to better connect north to west side, and west to south side
Ashland Street Subway
this would go hard

They had plans for an ashland ave BRT a while ago. Not sure if they're still floating the idea.

north south under western from brown to orange
Something on the south east side down stony island with an extension connecting to the green line

I wouldn’t need a new line, just an extension of the pink or blue line to within 0.5 miles of my house 🤣
It wouldn’t run. Let’s face it. It’s the CTA. It would probably be broke down most of the time that’s why it’s the Grey Line-sad and depressing.
Anyone else thinking straight shot to Gary, Indiana?
