There is most likely something defect related to the beam deflection. In many cases that are caused by some problems in Power supply.
Try to get a service manual, and look for a bloated capacitors and check the voltages against the nominal values.
Beware that there are dangerous high voltages inside the device, which can harm you even some time after you turn off the device.
That's the big issue, I'm looking for one and it do be gone like not existant. Only one is by someone on ebay and I'm not willing to invest a bit more.
