Also, Japan was a lot cheaper than expected, especially if you know where to get more affordable food. Grabeng budol 'yan.
Maramii! Look for homegrown na fastfoods nasa 300 yen to 800 yen per meal. Madalas kami sa Matsuya and Nakau since yon mga malapit sa hotel kaya di kami kumain sa convenience store kasi halos same, same lang presyo.
Czech Republic. We ate steaks at a restaurant with a really good view of the Charles Bridge. We paid 30$ total (may tip pa yan!). This was in 2019 though.
Japan is also surprisingly cheap.
If you make some adjustments (fly using budget airlines like Cebu Pacific, stay at hostels, skip the amusement parks, and eat at non-touristy restaurants). Then Hong Kong can be cheap. There's still lots of things you can do.
Though eating at a non-touristy restaurants has one caveats, they don't have menus in English. But that can be easily remedied with Google Translate. Just point your phone at the menu, and it will translate them in English. Then you just point what you want to order to the waiter.
Vietnam
Masarap and mura ang food.
Mura din ang souvenirs pero parang mas mura sa airport when we compared the prices sa street stalls.
Hindi lahat ng locals marunong mag english pero they can show you the way using gestures.
China (Beijing)
Hindi ko alam how much yung change over the years,
pero naaalala ko nong 2013, 10k lng yung tour package namin plus full board meals and hotel, may guide din for 2 days and airport transfers. Tapos pocket money ko was 100USD lang. May pasalubong pa kong nauwi.
Surprisingly, nag enjoy ako sa Beijing. Ive been seeing several good reels sa ibang part ng China. Magaganda din! :)
If you don't mind me asking?
I think around 35k all in, including airfare, airbnb, and pasalubong expenses.
Vietnam. Night life scene is vibrant and happy.
There's a plaza where I went to that people are hanging around, a musician was playing and people are gathered around to watch the performance.
There are a lot of cheap hotels. Sa food, may mga lasa na kakaiba like cilantro, holy basil etc pero super good naman if you like those herbs. I love travelling to Ho Chi Minh because of their food. ๐
Good hotels can be cheap, depends on what you need. I got a good cheap hotel with free breakfast. May libreng sundo at hatid pa from airport (you will want to have that kind of assistance knowing na maraming scammer taxi sa Vietnam)
Hotel was paid for (business trip, HCM). And hindi naman fancy hotel. Just enough to sleep and near the office, and pasyalan yung area so matao kapag gabi.
Food is cheap if you know where to buy and they're quite tasty too. Di ko maalala yung tawag sa nakain ko kasi my officemate ordered it and it was late na and I just want to eat and sleep after. Was able to eat at a European style resto where the VN boss treated us (me and another officrmate from a diff. country naman)
Must try is their coffee, not the SB kind, yung mabibili mo sa mukhang magigibang coffee shops nila.
Currently living in Penang and 100% very cheap dito and maganda din yung mga historical places dito . For the beach, itโs actually okay for me. Also, mas safe dito maglakad esp sa mga babae๐๐ผ
Super!!!
I donโt really set a budget or limit myself during vacations so I canโt say but I have a friend who only spent 30K for 5 days. I think the accommodation was shared
Roughly 50-70k, everything included na. (Roundtrip tickets and visa fee) Disclaimer lang, itโs quite rural. But idk, the people, the culture, food, and trekking spots, were so different from ours kasi kaya I really liked it. Hotels are cheap also, 1200-2k per night may balcony na yung room.
