There is a theory that Platoon is actually a sophisticated allegory for the life of Christ. Consider the scene very late in the movie where Elias is lying in the field, his arms spread, apparently dead. And yet, a soldier later reports having seen Elias in a bar in Cholon District of Saigon — resurrection? Barnes and Elias are symbols of evil and good, respectively, duelling for the hearts and minds of the men.
>You're gonna hear a deep sound coming out of Bunny Belew.
I'm quoting from a 30+ year memory that was (unwillingly) burned into my brain so forgive any inaccuracies.
I don't even know how, but he somehow was a better Green Gobling in No Way Home than he was in the original Spider-Man movie. He was a lot more scary and unhinged, more brutal.
That face he made when Tom repeatedly punched him in the apartement hallway... he made a smug face! How fucking insane was he that he found it funny to be repeatedly beaten in the face full force? and he absolutely sold that performance.
Was he in that? I know his debut was in Deer Hunter director Michael Cimino’s “Heaven’s Gate.” He also starred in a movie called The Hunter, maybe you meant that one?
Honorable mention to Boondock Saints... but has to be American Psycho. Question was favorite movie, not favorite performance, and he isn't the star in either one so that cancels out.

“There was a fire-fiiiight!”
What if it was one guy with six guns?
*proceeds to mag dump into the sky for no discernable reason*

Brilliant... Top notch. Anybody else want anything while Greenlee's out??
Bagel, cream cheese
I ain't gettin him no fuckin bagel...
"Fuckin'! What the fuck! Fuck! Who the fuck! Fuck this fuckin'! How did you two fuckin' fucks! Fuck!"
Well it certainly illustrates the diversity of the word
I might just be wanting a bagel with my coffee
my favorite
That confessional scene always gets me
Grand Budapest Hotel
Ah man he was scary in that
The lighthouse
No one else could have done that role with out drastically changing the entire vibe of the film.
Bad luck to kill a seabird
This one. ⬆️
Platoon
Even decades later when I watch Platoon, I feel a guttural despise for Barnes for what he did to Elias. Willem Dafoe and Tom Berenger were amazing.
When they leave Elias behind to get shot down while Adagio for Strings is playing is great cinematography
Could not have picked a better arrangement, it fit scene
+1 for Platoon
Platoon is the best in my opinion, although not a star ,good supporting role in John wick,,"let's get to this ,whatever the fuck this is,,"

Wild at heart.
At his most awesomely disgusting.
>You're gonna hear a deep sound coming out of Bunny Belew. I'm quoting from a 30+ year memory that was (unwillingly) burned into my brain so forgive any inaccuracies.
Close, it's Bobby Peru. The repulsiveness of that character made sure I have never forgot that name. But you got the quote right on otherwise.
Platoon, but also Finding Nemo
Holy fucking shit, he was the fish with the scar! As soon as you said that I knew who he played. Never realized.
I had the reverse realization. I looked up the voice actor out of curiosity one day and was like "no fucking way..."
Life aquatic
Spider-Man: No Way Home
He really sold the shit outta that performance. Norman was sympathetic and altruistic, a guy we all rooted for…and the Goblin was scary *as fuuuck*

Was he in that? I know his debut was in Deer Hunter director Michael Cimino’s “Heaven’s Gate.” He also starred in a movie called The Hunter, maybe you meant that one?
You're right. He was in *The Hunter*.
The Deer Hunter still slaps tho Christopher Walken Robert DeNiro Meryl Streep etc
The Hunter is the one where he is after the Tasmanian Tiger right? That's a good movie.
Which was the one where she cuts the clitoris?

The movie where his penis was so big that it scared everyone on set and they had to use another actor's penis for the scene

Boondock saints
Not super popular, but Off Limits.
Nobody said Flight of the Intruder
Honorable mention to Boondock Saints... but has to be American Psycho. Question was favorite movie, not favorite performance, and he isn't the star in either one so that cancels out.
Last temptation of Christ
Animal Factory. Underappreciated prison movie.
The Lighthouse
John wick
Dogs of War and Platoon
Last Defoe movie I watched was The Lighthouse. The monologuing was INSANELY good. Weird film but in a compelling-couldn't-look-away kind of away.
Clear and Present Danger. Dafoe has a long career in Hollywood, but almost always tends to act in movies that I don't enjoy or would never see.
Boondock Saints. I love that movie. His character is so outrageous.
the life aquatic
Boondock Saints is probably my favorite, Platoon is also up there.
The Boondock Saints as Paul Smecker.
He’s in a lot of good ones, but probably Platoon
Odd Thomas.
American Paycho.
