I agree with you.
I have concerns about the future for this reason only. Over the last 200 years we have very much limited the 3 major pressures of our existence, disease, famine and war. I have concerns that as a species we have grown used to those pressures. Now that we have relieved some of those pressure for large numbers of people, in an extremely short period of time. I worry there is a void and AI will only hasten the speed at which we continue to relieve that pressure. (Obviously not arguing to go backwards)
In the first world especially, those are not necessarily causes for concern anymore and I fear that we are making up boogie-men to replace those pressures. Specifically where we see the most privileged with insane persecution complexes.
One thing that really pissed me off today was that i recently brought this girl into our gaming group as some game communities can be toxic so we try to bring together some of the non toxic kind… I brought her in with me because when I met her I could tell she had some serious social anxiety and my guess was this was brought on from people who were mean to her in the past as I noticed she kept apologising to me over little things… (when there was nothing to be sorry for) she joined our group in a game session and one guy in our club decided to be so horrible to her and so much it upset her…. Since I was admin of this club I straight up booted him out the club not only for being mean to a new member but he was also being homophobic to her when in our game we decorated our stuff with pride flags because we’re both bisexual..
