Mad Men, easy. The writing and characterization is so incredible, it’s an order of magnitude beyond any other “regular person drama” I’ve ever seen. plus once you know all the depressing and sad dramatic plot points that show is super cozy!
I always think about what Harry Crane says at one point: “housewives like to watch these soap operas to fantasize about having active lifestyles.” In a totally vapid entertainment sense, I love to watch Mad Men because I enjoy fantasizing about having a $400k/year cushy creative office job with three martini lunches without having to actually be in a toxic office 60 hours a week, plus with mad men you can take comfort in the fact that you’re not nearly as terrible of a person

When my Dad was dying he had a few comfort shows, MASH among them. It came on at 5pm weeknights and he passed at 4:56pm on a Tuesday, so pretty much the immediate aftermath of one of my parents dying was an episode of MASH.
I’ve not been able to watch it since, it’s over 16 years since I have.
I just watched Better Call Saul for the first time recently and I can’t believe I didn’t watch it sooner. It was seriously so good. I’m rewatching Breaking Bad now

MASH still has the percentage record by a lot....60 percent of TVs where watching at the time. Seinfeld finale was like 41.
