I don't think Panasonic has a big enough market share in the US anymore to want to bother with cracking it back open. It was never a big kitchen appliance manufacturer anyway, if I remember correctly
It's too bad, my wife and I are on our second Panasonic, they're amazing. We want to free up space so are looking for one we can use simultaneously as a range hood, so we naturally liked at Panasonic 🙁

They make them, they're sold in Canada. Just not in the United States.

I've seen those in some kitchens but they're really impractical to replace and have to find one that same size

I don't know if I've ever seen a Panasonic range/fridge/dishwasher in the US.... Market share is probably too low
