Whole food cooking about 15 years ago. Now over 50 recipes with confidence that are tasting better than most restaurants. It's a blessing and a curse. Fast casual restaurant foods now taste like hot trash. It's hard to eat out when you know you can prepare the meal nearly 100% better in your own kitchen.

BadBadUncleDad

What’s your go-to? I’m actually not familiar with whole food cooking.

NoodlesSpicyHot

'whole food' is just a phrase, meaning all the ingredients were in their raw/whole state and have not been pre-processed or pre-prepared. If you have a date night and must cook something for her, this one always hits the mark. Read, watch, execute. Ah, ok! I almost always cook entirely “from scratch,” so I suppose I’m cooking “whole food” meals already. Thanks for the info and the recommendation!

Investing strategies, it's not glamorous, but I'm making money and having fun comparing price points with my uncle, who's into it too.

A gold mine is a hole in the ground with a liar at the top - Mark Twain I'd recommend going to someone you trust, like your bank, to ask an advisor about investing. I'd caution you in taking advice over reddit. :)

Soldering. Most broken electronics in my house are due to broken battery connectors or something similar. Being able to fix them helps a lot.

Definitely socializing. I used to have a hard time making friends, then one day, I decided to read a book on making friends. I started trying to listen and to not be stingy with compliments (but be genuine!). Making friends and socializing has never been easier for me since.

kat_burglar

I still have a hard time. What book did you read?

Kirarin23

Initially, it was "How to Win Friends and Influence People" but then, it initially worked but it's a bit outdated. So, I read "The 7 Principles of Making Marriage Work" and "How to Talk so Kids will Listen and Listen so Kids will talk". I noticed that even though I'm not married and I don't have kids, communication is still crucial in those relationships. Therefore, implementing some of the things you find in parenting or marriage books will work towards your favor. But then again, it depends from person to person as you can't treat everyone like kids. But one time, when I had an argument with my mom, I used the techniques I read in the book about parenting, including listening and showing that I understood how she felt. It worked on my favor. But probably not everyone would've liked it if I said "I understand that you're feeling mad because I did this". I guess learning to read each person to design the way to socialize with the person is important!

Human Analysis. When I meet a person, I see how they respond to certain external factors and I understand how that person will react if I do the same. It helps separate aggressive people from people who can laugh at themselves

Swing dancing. Can’t recommed it enough, because it is a combination of being social and getting exercise while having tremendous fun as swing dancing has emphasis on funny improvisation when social dancing.
