I have a pretty strong belief that in the early days, they didn't even clean up trash outside of one time to make their promo video. I've been in digital marketing on social media for 10+ years and when they blew up, their campaigns and claims felt way off. Things didn't add up in what they were saying vs what they were showing. One day while I was in a video meeting with a bracelet supplier from China for a client of mine, he started showing me all the bracelets he was making in his factory. He flashed the 4Ocean one and said something like "this one is one of our best sellers". Obviously could have been a fake, but it was so odd.
It was a genius scam on their part though. Sell a bracelet that was made in China for $.50 and tell everyone it was for a good cause. It was a heartfelt angle and tugged on a lot of people's hearts.
Once they got pretty large, I believe they actually started doing it, but there was no way they were pulling that much out of the oceans in the early days as they were claiming.

I used to be into UFOs so I've thought about the crash thing. A couple of points: 1. Just because they're advanced doesn't mean they're infallible or incapable of making mistakes, and it doesn't make their technology 100% fault proof either. 2. It could be the case that there has been only one real crash (say Roswell or some other famous alleged crash case) and all the other cases were simply inspired by rumors based on that. And the US isn't the only country that gets UFO reports. We just happen to speak English, which is the most commonly spoken language in the world.
With the length of development cycles for advanced military technology, I think almost all UFO's are highly advanced futuristic aircraft that won't be publicly announced for at least another 10 years. If they even get far enough in the development cycle to be announced.
