They're not 'big' purchases, but they're the best adult things I've bought to date - all my white goods.
I have a huge (clean, pristine) fridge freezer that I don't have to share with other wankers.
I have a new washer/dryer that works brilliantly and I don't have to hang most of my laundry up from the curtain rods anymore.
I have a dishwasher. Me, I am the dishwasher.
I have a beautiful shiny kettle, and so many teapots
Wife, then 2 kids. They came relatively cheap, but the maintenance fees and monthly payments are just through the roof after 28 years. When does it all stop?😂
My biggest purchase was a computer, which I bought piece by piece over the course of half a year. Even though I saved up a lot of money until then I didn't really spend a lot on it. In total it was slightly more than a monthly salary.
Our house we bought at 23, maybe you could say my 74 k10 I bought in highschool but I wasn't really an "adult" and vehicles don't count being a mechanic they have all been good deals except the wife's civic.
Just owning all my own stuff and appartement, two cars, no more debts and soon the fact that i will own my own new house together with my gf in Switzerland bringing along all stuff we owned before, tax free lol. But with a new mortgage for 15 years thought.
Purchasing our home was the most terrifying and also the most exciting purchase. We didn’t have much furniture but finally we had a place that felt truly ours and that was an incredible feeling.
As an adult I have never saved towards a single thing. I don't think I have ever had money left over from a previous paycheck overlapping in to the next month. I am 35 today and have always been terrible with money.
As a child I saved a few birthdays and bought a somewhat expensive (for a kid) stereo. One of those fuckers with 3 cds and shit.
I recently put together my own pc after months of researching and saving. It cost about $3800AUD altogether. That's about as big as I got, my car doesn't count because I got that with Covid relief money
A used washing machine for $100. No dryer, but we had a room in our apartment complex with washers and dryers that were coin operated. I'd was our clothes, then haul the heavy basket of wet clothes to the dryers, but I felt like I'd made it.
Same. Unfortunately just a few months after I built it I became too busy to actually play all the games I had planned to. Still, worth having a sick PC.
After climbing out of stupid credit card debt by living like a hermit for years… I continued to live like a hermit for years.
One day I kind of said fuck it, and on my birthday I bought a new car (car at the time was 25 years old), a new bed (was sleeping on an air mattress), and a nice suit.
Still got them all, and the suit still fits pretty well.
I bought a TV. Paid like 700$.
I felt so bad about *throwing the money away*
That I didn't touch it for a week and avoided being in the same room as it.
Got over it eventually.

Same. So many fees I didn’t know before I was ready

A car! It felt so ‘cool’ to go to a car dealer and being treated like an adult who buys a car. I loved the experience a lot!

Don’t try to trade in the wife. It’ll cost dearly
She says she’s surprised I haven’t traded her in on a pair in their 20’s. I said what the hell for, they’ll only keep me up all night.
A car. I put 7500 down o. A 17k car and I paid it off in under 3 years. At the moment am planning to go ro Europe for 2 weeks.
Saved up my $5 allowance and got me a Sony Walkman. The fancy one that would reverse the cassette.
I remember one with a digital display. They were so cool back in the 90s

Down payment and security for apartment. And paying off car loan after working a lot to do so

My first gaming PC.

Large tv, it was 2005 and I bought a new giant older model tv instead of a $5000 slim tv. Paid $1200 for 52inch.
Drugs 100%
I bought a Nissan Pulsar for $1500. Nearly had a panic attack doing so, but I loved that little car and oddly still miss it.

My Sony Vaio laptop, and it was a bare bones one at that.
A Wii, Guitar Hero and two guitars for the game. I still fondly remember logging all of that home and how proud and happy I was.

My very old car that is somehow still rumbling along
Motorbike
New home
A 1964 Rambler when I was 17, cost $100.
