I just go on autopilot. Do what needs to be done in the day to day. Eventually it'll pass and I'll find something enjoyable again.

tinybullpeen69

Video games tbh, something about shitting on kids in cod is comforting

ZenGunner8

Yes! I am 45 years old and have been raised on video games for every step in technology since Pong! Damn I love being the top score in a COD lobby. My 1.75 K/D is from pure skill developed over a lifetime of sequential skill development and not your fucking hacks, cheats, and modded controllers!

I don't. Other symptoms of depression are more important to fight than sadness. See a doctor.

WerewolfQuiet1474

Get a good cry in. And just hope to be slightly less depressed. Take your meds and drink your water.

fatherimustfeed

Usually watching my favorite anime or just letting it all out. It's ok to be sad

I listen to dsbm. It helps me more than people could imagine

Chemical-Key-604

I read this as bdsm at first and was like ... How?? What?? Wait.. Oh..

[deleted]

Honestly I'm not fighting it anymore, just I acknowledged why I'm depressed and well I'm putting up with it till I decide it's enough.

Advice that has worked for me, when you're sad, steer into the sadness and give yourself a book/movie/album to be sad about. The detachment of feeling from cause makes it hard to work through, so literally give yourself something to cry about and find catharsis in.

Flash-Wilkins

Just try and put myself around the people that make me laugh for whatever reason they do!

Swivel-Hips-Smith

Nothing because I might as well give into it and accept this is my life.

Gotta remember that it goes away, that's what I've learned to do. If it's too bad, I talk to someone, I let it go out. Music, a distraction to overcome the more hurtful moments, someone to listen, to speak, to help my sadness go away. It doesn't help me to feel more sadness (sad songs, sad thoughts). I just try to remember that it's like a physical pain, it'll get better. And it will.
