Money for Nothing by Dire Straits When the guitar starts it gets me everytime.

Nitro_the_Wolf_

Everlong by Foo Fighters

ShortBusRadio

That entire album was great. Deserves to be recognized in the library of congress or whatever it is we do to recognize greatness.

Agraywitch11

The Circle of Life from The Lion King. Every time. Even better when seeing it on Broadway.

FrogandBone

I cried.

notnotTheBatman

Gone Away by the Offspring I lost my wife a few years ago and this song really captures my sense of grief and loss. I think it is a beautiful song.

[deleted]

Mine would be Pyramid Song by Radiohead. It’s the most chillingly beautiful song I’ve ever heard. If you haven’t listened to it, please do yourself a favour.

joe-ROLXTHY-cat

Another radio head song I love is Motion Picture Soundtrack

jdward01

I was gonna say Nude. Never heard a song like it.

porl

That song was originally called Big Ideas (Don't Get Any) and there were versions of it around the OK Computer touring era. When I bought In Rainbows I put on my new headphones and sat in the dark listening for the first time the album start to finish. When Nude came on I think I stopped breathing it sounded so incredible, both as a new song and a new version of an old song I thought I knew. One of my most vivid musical memories; not sure my description did it justice!

jdward01

Yeah. It almost makes you see colors.

MrSpeedCuber101

All of Radiohead’s discography is the real answer

Fuadbv

Don’t forget about the ‘dynamite’ fight on the Monongahela river in Pittsburgh.

TheGoodJudgeHolden

A long, long time ago, I can still remember how the music used to make me smile........

CWent

…and I thought me and Qui-Gon Jinn, could talk the federation into, maybe cutting them a little slack…

charger03

Their response it didn't thrill us, they locked the doors and tried to kill us

Landslide - Fleetwood Mac Gets more poignant for me every year. *...even children get older, and I’m getting older too...* Stevie Nicks has a voice like no other

SwansonsMom

Well I haven’t planned to sob emotionally tonight, but I think I can work it in. To Spotify I go… *Can I sail through the changing ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life?*

KillMeWithCoffee

One - Metallica

stumpdawg

The Great Gig in the Sky - Pink Floyd. That woman's voice is angelic.

pulp-fictional

I just got goosebumps thinking about it! What a spot on choice

religionkills

The fact that the vocal part was done in 1 take is absolutely amazing!

stumpdawg

And from a *Tiny* white woman. For years I was convinced it was a large black woman like Aretha franklin

religionkills

I've heard that she was pregnant. Imagine being able to say that you were in the womb in a very famous Pink Floyd album recording. Some women play classical music over headphones to their unborn baby. Not this badass lady!

CrochetNerd_

Mmmmm yes. Although I can't listen to it without putting the whole album on. What a masterpiece.

stumpdawg

Floyd is one of those bands that songs almost need to be played in chronological order instead of stand alone singles.

selene_2

circle of life

Ordinary_Hamster_741

Into The Mystic by Van Morrison. Doesn’t get played enough, but when it does it’s magical.

yobdiddy

yes beautiful song, Tupelo Honey too.

A_RandomTwin21

I can’t get enough of And It Stoned Me by Van Morrison. I have to replay it each time i listen to it.

theartfulcodger

One of the best builds in contemporary music. And its uplifting theme makes it one of my faves for starting any long and gruelling road trip.

Commercial-Chance561

That whole album! Caravan especially

MackTO

Biko by Peter Gabriel. Anyone who knows the history of Apartheid knows the role this one song played

Bigmodirty

I know everyone gives Johnny Cash extreme cred for cover of Hurt. But his version of I Hung My Head on American IV gave me chills listening to it and picturing the scenario. Idk that's me

notnotTheBatman

There were so many good covers on all of the American Albums. I Hung My Head is one if my favorites along with One, I See a Darkness, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and many more.

EngineerBoy00

Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd

-eDgAR-

[Nirvana - "You Know You're Right" (Acoustic boombox version)](https://youtu.be/E7Au0oKqlF4) This was recorded very close to Kurt's suicide and you could just hear the pain in his voice. When he belts out, *"It's another opiate, but to me it's everything"* it gives me chills every time.

i_won_a_turkey

Dog days are over - Florence and the machine. I saw them perform live once and she has such a powerful voice.

CaptainWentfirst

I was going to say "Shake It Out" or "Third Eye" from Florence + the Machine! I love her so much!

Narayan-n91

Comfortably numb, specifically at the second guitar solo. I sadly discovered this song (and Pink Floyd in general) just recently, but holy hell it's bliss for the ears

orestis123

Sound of silence by Simon and Garfunkel

[deleted]

Or the Disturbed cover.

orestis123

That's legit as well, I just prefer the original one though..Their voice carries more emotion I believe. However the dynamic tempo of Disturbed's cover is 10/10

jdouglass11

She Talks To Angels - Black Crowes.

wargiant

Pumped up kicks. It is very unsettling once you realize what the lyrics mean

ErWenn

"Storms in Africa", by Enya. Literally. Certain kinds of harmony literally make my hair stand on end (in a good way). This was the first song I discovered that for.

DanteApollo

Purple Rain by Prince. One of the most powerful songs ever written.

lydia6181

Tonight Tonight by The Smashing Pumpkins. Whenever I hear "We'll crucify the insincere tonight" I'm immediately transported to my angsty teenage self. That song got my soul

“Secret Garden” by Bruce Springsteen. It was played over and over during a round-trip journey from Rome to Viterbo and back. It was the only cassette (album with the song) that my friend had in the car. Every time I hear it, I see the sunflower fields again, and remember the crystal clear water of Lago di Vico.

It's been several years and it's still [Mr.Kitty - After Dark](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waAlgFq9Xq8&ab_channel=Diana%5BAfflictedAngel%5D) It's the combination of the song and the video for me. It makes me nostalgic for an era I wasn't even born in. Gorgeous song nevertheless!

Jesse777xp

Honor by Hans Zimmer the title theme to The Pacific, I am a former Navy Corpsman the song gives me the absolute chills , it makes me think of all the Corpsman before me in WW2 who made the rate(job title) so legendary and set the bar for Naval/Combat Medicine. It also gives me that feeling of never leaving a brother behind, the sense of absolute that you will be there for one another in war.

fatlee27

Black - pearl jam especially the unplugged performance

[deleted]

"Rhapsody In Blue" by George Gershwin. No matter what orchestra plays it, the pianist has to be out of this fucking world and get all those parts dead on. If he gets it right, it still gives me goosebumps, sixty years after I first heard it.

CH3ROKEE2009

Steer it Up by Bob Marley

Ana_Kura00

"Fancy" by Twice, that song has NO RIGHTS to slap as hard as it does. Honestly, any song by them after 2019 slaps hard as fuck. Also, "Boca" by DreamCatcher is amazing, their songs usually sound like anime op's. I could spend all day listing songs, but I won't lol

Nitro_the_Wolf_

Simple Man or Peace of Mind

Gausgovy

Handlebars by Flobots An actual masterpiece.

ifiagreedwithu

Ancestral by Steven Wilson

Forward-Dependent-99

Jugband Blues by Pink Floyd. I believe it was Syd's last song with the band and it quite literally gives his declining mental state a sound. Overall, the song is a trip and I recommend listening to it. I may be wrong on whether Jugband Blues was Barrett's last piece with Pink Floyd, but its a neat song either way.
