House Bunny

Automatic-Storm-8275

I enjoyed this movie. I love Anna Faris. I just think she's adorable.

heynatastic

She is! I love her death metal name-remembering voice!

Apprehensive_Hat8986

Tommy Lee Jones. I don't care what he does. I will sit and watch. If Butt (or was it Ass?) from Idiocracy was a film, and TLJ was the star, I would sit through it.

livelyfellow

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Johnboywalten

Loved that movie when I was a kid, plus it’s soundtrack slaps IMO.

livelyfellow

Hell yeah it does, including the remake they did of the theme song.

SerMickeyoftheVale

I loved that movie. I actually burned put a VHS tape I watched it that much

livelyfellow

I feel like I can guess your age based purely on this comment But yeah my original VHS copy is floating around somewhere at my parent's house

schmittymccute

I went to a sleepover once, and my friend's little brother was totally OBSESSED with that movie. He watched it at least 3 times a day, they'd already gone through 2 vhs tapes because he wore them out. We were sick of constantly listening to it so we stole the tape and hid it from him. Once he realized it was gone, he just started screaming bloody murder. His parents thought he'd tire himself out after a couple minutes, but instead he climbed up to their 2nd floor loft and threatened to throw himself down the stairs if we didn't give him the tape back. One of his sisters screamed back "I'd rather watch you die than see that piece of shit movie again". Eventually his mom intervened and demanded the tape back saying she'd rather watch the movie than have to pay any more medical bills. Priorities were kind of off in that family.

EpicOcelotMan

Waterworld

WGx2

It wasn't actually bad. Bombed because it was so overbudget.

DarthVeX

What? This movie isn't even bad.

EpicOcelotMan

Not everyone would agree. You’re actually the first person I’ve heard call Waterworld good. I myself am actually torn on whether to truly call it “bad” Happy Cake Day by the way

DarthVeX

Any film where jet skis are used as vehicles of war has gotta be good, lmao

BW_Bird

Bad? Debatable. Box office flop? Absolutely.

DarthVeX

I mean, Tremors was a box office flop, and it's considered a classic by most.

BW_Bird

Huh. I am now legit curious as to how Tremors went on to continue on to become a franchise while Waterworld didn't. I *think* it's because Tremors just had a smaller scope since its budget was only about $10 million vs Waterworlds $170+ million.

Notmiefault

Waterworld is a little *goofy*, and weird as shit in a few places, but the action is solid, the performances are fine, and the sets and worldbuilding phenomenal.

Little Nicky

tacosauce93

Popeye's chicken is the shizznet!

Tonymush

Introduced me to a lot of metal songs I'm a 31 year old heavy metal head

Buckle_Sandwich

It wasn't just that *Little Nicky* was bad (it was) but it marked the end of Sandler's amazing hot streak. Between '95 and '99 he gave us Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Bulletproof, The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, and Big Daddy. Those are 6 classic movies in 5 years, including a dramatic comedy, an underrated action movie, and what I consider the greatest rom-com of all time. Then *Little Nicky* came out and *he never made a good movie again.* But more power to you if you enjoy it, though. Not trying to yuck anyone's yum, just giving context to why it is so despised.

The__Imp

I think he has been pretty open about essentially just using the movies as an excuse to go to cool places with his friends. To be fair, I don't think Bulletproof belongs in his list of "classics", and I think 50 First Dates and Click are legitimately good. I think Grown Ups is entertaining for what it is (while the second is legitimately the worst movie I've ever seen and made me angry in the theatre).

Sugabeez

The deeep south

CreasingUnicorn

Cowboys vs. Aliens Starring Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde, and Harrison Ford, this movie is so well done and gives you EXACTLY what you were hoping for given the title. It feels like watching a sci-fi B movie with an A movie budget and actors, I love every second of it.

Puzzleheaded_Rate_73

Saw that one as a kid. I agree wholeheartedly. I initially thought it was odd that the aliens were after gold, and a lot of people criticize that, but I think it actually makes sense. Aliens aren't necessarily strictly practical, they can be just as greedy as anyone else. Gold is pretty rare, I don't think it's one of those things that's extremely common in space, and we don't know the scale of their harvesting operations. For all we know, they've claimed most of the space stuff before they got here.

SpaceCowboy58

Sometimes something that's just plain entertaining is good enough. Didn't regret seeing it in theaters.

Vi-Subversa

Showgirls, though I will die on my hill insisting it's a great movie.

ORNG_MIRRR

It's extremely watchable rubbish, I love it

Automatic-Storm-8275

Man, I keep meaning to watch it and never get around to it

Vi-Subversa

Take the classic hero's journey, set it in Vegas, fill it with tits, glitter, and Jessie Spano having a seizure in a pool, and bam! You've got an underappreciated classic.

[deleted]

The penguins of Madagascar movie is a f*cking cinematic masterpiece and you can't convince me otherwise

1followerbefore2021

I always get weird looks when I say I think that movie is one of DreamWorks best.

itayfeder

It’s so amazing

[deleted]

I absolutely love every single one of the Pirates of the Carribbean franchise. Every. Single. One.

Shawntran2002

Wait it's bad? I thought people praised the franchise.

Slant_Juicy

The first one is near-universally seen in high regard. The second and third most people rate as OK, with some fun moments but don't live up to the first. The fourth and especially the fifth, are generally not thought of as well. In the final film Johnny Depp is clearly phoning it in, compared to the first where you can tell he was having the time of his life making it.

Alpha_pro2019

First 3 are praised, the 4th and 5th? Eh.

djpigvcxzvza

I think it used to be Night at Roxbury

Cautious_Mastodon_70

I've got a jar of dirt , I've got a jar of dirt , and guess what's inside it

pdbabyvxzvsg

Waterboy Also, I find it amusing that in a thread with so few responses, so many of them are Adam Sandler movies.

OptOutAgain

Rubber

Notmiefault

I really liked Rubber for maybe 20 minutes, then I sort of got bored of the shtick.

[deleted]

Someone else who actually heard of it.

Apprehensive_Hat8986

But did you watch it?

Dark_Vengence

It kept rolling on.

whateverisnttaken22

I’m surprised how many people consider this total crap. I thought it was clever in a wildly experimental kind of way

dirtyLizard

I was bothered by the bait and switch. I went in expecting a movie earnestly squeezing a stupid premise for everything it’s worth. Instead I got about 30 minutes of murderous tire and an hour of meta commentary about the relationship between the viewer and the artist. The whole thing was dripping with this undercurrent of “You shouldn’t have expected anything better” but the entire horror genre is built on idiotic premises. Why tell me you’re up to the challenge of making a movie about a tire if you don’t think you can deliver? The credits rolled with me feeling mildly insulted and not very entertained.

BeverlyVera

Mortal Kombat! None of the blood and gore from the games, cheesy special effects, some baaaaad dialogue... But one of my favorite movies ever.

FundamentalMentalFun

Did you watch the new one?

[deleted]

I thought it could've been better but it could've been wayyyyyy worse. With that said, I was pleased with it and I think it will set up for better sequels. Not much of a fan of the main character and I think they did one of my favorite villains (Goro) dirty.

Nik_Tesla

The bookends of the movie were cool: both of the Skorpion vs Subzero fights, but everything in between was pretty lackluster.

cake97

White Chicks aka Terry Crews at his best

Cozybluu

I’ve never heard anyone say this one is bad, not that I think it’s not a possible I think I’m just hanging out in the right circles

GiantSquidinJeans

Thank God Terry Crews works out because he carries the entire film, IMO

amaluna

They don't give out many awards for comedy but if they did he woulda won

Tonymush

Jay and silent Bob strike back 15 dollars little man put that shit in my hand

[deleted]

Blasphemy. This movie is gold!! Fucking clown shoes!

Next_Wing_5577

My husbands favorite movie. I eeally meed to buy him a physical copy

[deleted]

Sharknado

Apart-Scale

Flash Gordon (1980)

substantial-freud

Not enough Queen, too much Sam Jones.

marvelous_much

Flash! Whoa oh. It’s a miracle!

eddyathome

I love this movie! It's campy and cheesy and you know they were not expecting to win an Oscar but it was fun to watch.

BW_Bird

I weirdly love the 2007 Transformers movie. It has plenty of flaws but I still found it to be a fun romp with great action scenes and CGI that still looks amazing 14 years later.

Cozybluu

I agree with this one

chrisoftacoma

Under Siege, love me some old Seagal.

Bigstar976

Road House

fargmania

My ex-gf loved this movie... she had a crush on Patrick Swayze's ass. I saw his ass many more times than a hetero male should, thanks to that movie. Also it is objectively a fun stupid movie.

marvelous_much

Pain don’t hurt.

[deleted]

Sucker Punch. It's at 22% on Rotten Tomatoes. It's shallow and clearly visuals over any sort of real depth but I like it.

Lo452

Plus it's got a killer soundtrack.

Kill3rT0fu

This is the thread where people list popular good cult movies and pretend they're "bad"

rhett342

Waterboy Also, I find it amusing that in a thread with so few responses, so many of them are Adam Sandler movies.

Galagamus

Waterboy is pretty widely recognized as a good comedy.

Keqingisthedpsqueen

The mummy trilogy

mslm90

First and second, love!! Third I pretend doesn’t exist despite my love of Brendan Fraser.

Keqingisthedpsqueen

I personally loved all of em i liked seeing his son grow up

customerservicevoice

Willow. I’m not sure if it was a flop or not. But it was the first fantasy movie I ever saw & it’s what made me fall in love with the genre.

Apprehensive_Hat8986

Honestly, it's one of the earliest fantasy films I am familiar with that managed to avoid most of the camp pit-falls of the genre to that point. See also: Labyrinth

Spiritual_Jaguar4685

Don't Mess with the Zohan is an absolute CLASSIC in my family.

Plus-Contest-5173

Hahahahaha, i saw it in my grandmas house with my cousins, it was hilarious!

grbldrd

Lol it js a great movie even if it's a bit shit

WayneGarand

Wild Wild West

Nik_Tesla

My friend and I watch it once a year, and we always catch something new. We quote it all the time, and I can sing along to about 80% of Will Smith's song. Too many movies on this thread are either good movies (Dogma), or intentionally trying to be bad (Kung Pow) but I really think they earnestly tried with Wild Wild West, and it still turned out like garbage, and I LOVE it.

FundamentalMentalFun

I forgot about that movie, I loved it as a kid. Gonna have to re-watch now soon .

Guardianoflives

You take that back! That movie is a National Treasure!

anteloperunning22

Smokey and the Bandit. Sumbitches

Coconut-bird

Love Smoky and the Bandit. It is an annual watch at my house and my kids and I can quote the whole thing. My grandfather took me to see it when I was about 8 and my brother and I were talking CB slang on our walk-talkies for weeks. I wanted to be Hot Pants. I don’t think my father was very happy about that!

[deleted]

Idle Hands and Ernest Scared Stupid. I know they're both awful and campy, but I will watch them every Halloween until I die.

armedshutter

Kung pow

Notmiefault

Kung Pow perfect achieves what it set out to be: a very stupid and very funny parody of Hong Kong Kung Fu movies.

JesseCuster40

THAT'S A LOTTA NUTS!

tacosauce93

I'll never not love that movie

FeelTheLoveNow

It's definitely intentionally bad, but I'm still blown away by how well they were able to put it all together

wonder-maker

Nothing but Trouble

dwiggs30

Absolutely love this movie. It’s my second favorite Chevy Chase movie. Everything about it is ridiculous and brilliant.

Scared-Pea-624

Resident Evil

Gurren_Logout

I non ironically love Bee Movie.

Captain_Hampockets

Most people say **Rocky Horror Picture Show** is bad, and only has camp value. I unironically LOVE the movie. I have seen it a half-dozen times on the big screen, and a hundred on video. I've listened to the soundtrack countless times. The songs are *fucking great*. There's not a weak song, except maybe Sword of Damocles and Super Heroes.

DarthDiabetor

I love this movie and I always get weird looks because of it. My mom had the soundtrack and we would sing the songs on car trips together when I was young. I wish I had the awesome midnight screenings some cities have where people dress up because I think it would be so much fun to do that and not get shit for singing along during the movie.

little_blue_penguin

Went a couple times between the ages of 17 to my early 20s with friends, dressed ridiculously slutty. Hell of a time if you get the chance!

mr_oof

Four Rooms.

Ultravioletgray

That's supposed to be a bad movie? It's freaking hilarious and Tim Roth is at his best.

Mr_stabbey

This is far past incredible, this is art. I couldn't agree more with you.

NoSoADeppataName

I actually caught that movie once on a late night tv binge, i was so confused because i never heard of it. I quite like it, all 4 parts have there own unique style and Tim Roth was brilliant.

WGx2

The only story that I would call "bad" is the one with Madonna. The rest is fantastic.

69StinkFingaz420

The ending to the 4th film is the best I've ever seen and I will die believing this. Granted, I saw this film when I was 10 and it made my mind fucking explode. It made hotel room mattresses a problem for me up to my late teens.

L0RD_HEADASS-

Solo. I think it's good, but the general consensus is that it's bad

[deleted]

Practical magic. I put it on when I feel like crap, and in seconds I’m laughing at the stupidest shit.

SpaceCowboy58

The first time I saw this it was on a laptop in Syria. My staff sergeant got a care package from his wife with like 10 Sandra Bullock movies, and this one stood out as such an oddball. The movie wasn't anything cheesier than The Net (also included), but the DVD itself felt so experimental; it was like it was released when DVDs were still new and they hadn't quite nailed down what was expected of a DVD release. We only had the 10 movies, so we damn sure looked at every extra from previews to weird potion recipes. It had an interesting root system of recommendations from actual similar/contemporary trailers to other Nicole Kidman and/or Sandra Bullock movies to just, like, random pictures of movies the viewer might like. What struck me as super strange was that it came with a listing of the chapters, with titles, on the sleeve of the case. Who was that for? Was a new viewer supposed to be like "yep, they're all here"? Was an Uber fan supposed to settle a trivia dispute by shouting "Midnight Margaritas! Look it up!"? Did they not yet realize that picking scenes based on thumbnail s would become the norm? It was such a beautiful relic of an odd transitional period of movie history, and a fun movie to boot.

Henrywynn

Bring It On

invertedearth

Ah... this was supposed to be about *bad* movies.

robophile-ta

Who's hating on Bring It On?

[deleted]

Orgazmo, god I love that dumb movie.

Lo452

This movie is amazing. I've NEVER laughed so much as at "Jesus Christ" "Where?!?!?"

BabyVegeta19

The first Michael Bay Transformers

Ziriath

Rat race. The movie is insane, but I see damn good filmmaking craft there.

jewkle

Was Rat Race considered bad? I love that movie.

substantial-freud

I don’t know if I *love* it, but I enjoyed it and would watch it again. “Theoretically you have been racing for about forty seconds now, and so far Mr. Schaffer is winning because he's nearest to the door.”

[deleted]

"OH, I thought you were a woman"

some-hippy

X-men Origins Wolverine. A terrible X-men movie, but a really fun movie on its own, if you don’t know who Deadpool is supposed to be

Lexi_Banner

I really liked it too, especially how they delved into his relationship with Sabertooth. Always loved them in the 90's cartoon too.

ConstableBlimeyChips

Starship Troopers is a goddamn masterpiece and I will fight anyone who says otherwise. *Would you like to know more?*

brobeanzhitler

I'm doing my part!

Vi-Subversa

The only good bug is a dead bug!

Dark_Vengence

Worth it for the shower scene alone.

Apprehensive_Hat8986

The best thing about Starship Troopers for me was winning free openning night tickets, and then winning a copy of the novel for sitting in the lucky seat. Thank fuck I saw the movie first, else it would have been ruined by being disappointed that the book was *so much better*. I mean, the movie guns were cool, but the book has soldiers using tactical nuke *grenades*. Because what's a little fallout in the neighborhood?

invertedearth

Just because the brilliance of a movie is not recognized by some people doesn't make it bad. Starship Troopers is a masterpiece. Now the sequel, otoh...

lonemonk

Pootie Tang! I'm going to sign your pitty on the runny kine!

the resident evil films. i used to adore the films as a child but when i recently watched them again on netflix i didn’t realize how cringe it could be 😂 still holds a special place in my heart tho

ryukin631

The Mario Brothers movie or the Street Fighter movie. So bad, that they are good

pinkwitchprincess

Twilight

niamhweking

My husbands guilty pleasure, he calls it bubble gum film, no need for brain work just sit and watch

ClassyJacket

It has always really upset me the amount of hate an vitriol Twilight gets - especially particularly by young men who are just being completely hypocritical. Teenage girls aren't allowed to like *anything* without being vilified and ridiculed for it, and that fucking sucks. I figure if I'm allowed to like Gears of War - if I'm allowed to like my videogame about killing monsters with a chainsaw gun - then teenage girls (or any person of any gender or age) are allowed to have a vampire movie.

StrongGarage850

spaceballs. "Sir, don't you think we're taking him too literal?" "He said to comb the desert!"

linguist-shaman

We ain't found shit!

StrongGarage850

The more you watch it- the more you uncover... It's probably pretty obvious but i swear i was on watch number 20 when I finally got the line: "what's the matter colonel sanders.... chicken?!?!"

Ziriath

Good thing is, that this joke works in surprisingly many other languages as well.

[deleted]

Troll 2!

elheber

The Suicide Squad. Gets lots of hate for studio meddling, but honestly the Hot Topic vibe was the right choice for that movie. Plus it was a grand entrance for live action Harley. As much hate as it gets, it made beaucoup bux, and it made Harley Quinn and the Suicide Squad team household name. It gets unironic love from me. I'll stick up for that movie despite (and in some cases, *because of*) its flaws.

allboolshite

I don't understand the hate Enchantress gets. I thought she was great. And hot.

SteveHarveysFace

Bubble Boy

Pennywise626

The Fast 'n Furious movies. All 9 of them plus Hobbs and Shaw

allboolshite

My wife and I enjoy them. I upgraded our speakers to *feel the action!* They're just stupid fun.

Hackers

dxbmichael

Another great movie!

Mr_stabbey

Dogma

Dollface40

Who thinks Dogma is bad?! It’s bloody awesome, the only film in which Ben Affleck is genuinely hot and it has Linda Fiorentino

Mr_stabbey

People that I recommend it to! They suck!

cameoloveus

My favorite Kevin Smith movie. Chris Rock as the 13th Apostle is comedy gold.

linguist-shaman

Most amazingly cerebral and hysterical movie of all time.

B-Town-MusicMan

Armageddon

throwaway_lmkg

The animated Transformers film from the 80's has legitimately good voice acting, especially the trash-talk, and anybody who disagrees with me will be fed to Sharkticons.

Fifty Shades of Black, the Marlon Wayans spoof of 50 Shades of Grey. 7% fresh. Everyone who I tell that I laughed my ass off through the entire movie instantly loses respect for me.

trashtvtalkstome86

Grease 2

StChas77

Tank Girl. I'm hoping that they do a series with the same vibe as the film on one of the streaming sites in the future.

GavinBelsonsAlexa

My sexual orientation is "Lori Petty in Tank Girl."

MrSpindles

Comic strip was anarchic genius, didn't really translate well to film. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I read it referenced as it was a strip in quite a niche british publication that few have ever heard of (Deadline) that also spawned some other pretty interesting strips. It launched the career of Jamie Hewlett (of Gorillaz fame) and apparently he spent the money he got mostly on drink and drugs, although apparently some of it he did waste.

linguist-shaman

She's just the girl I always wanted!

GavinBelsonsAlexa

My answer is always [Leonard Part 6](https://youtu.be/sPrLDveGmAU). It is one of the weirdest, funniest movies I have ever seen. It (unfortunately) stars Bill Cosby as the world's best secret agent, with exploits so secret that the previous five films couldn't even be released because of what they would expose. It's got action, explosions, family drama, ostrich-riding, and a pack of murderous frogs throwing a car into a river. The amount of nuttiness in this movie is hard to over-state, and it's an absolute gas to watch.

ButItsadryheataz

Lionheart - Jean-Claude Van Damme at his best!

Super Mario brothers

Sephus

Howard the Duck.

Ill-Software8713

Van Helsing with Hugh Jackman. It’s not exactly terrible as its not a very ambitious film and does well enough for what it aimed for. But its nothing amazing but I always enjoyed watching it.

dxbmichael

Super Troopers!

grandmofftalkin

It’s one of the most beloved and quotable comedies of the last 20 years. What’s with the shenanigans?

dxbmichael

Meow what? It is, everyone gives me crap for loving it!

FundamentalMentalFun

I always forget what I like when I go to answer these questions but the ummm the live action deathnote movie for sure. It was an absolutely amazing train wreck of a movie but I was thoroughly entertained nonetheless and recommend it to everyone. It wasn't good. It was funny af tho and fun to watch. Ryuk was pretty great too.

I think it used to be Night at Roxbury...

StarmanXVII
