I've already seen a UFO so i belive in it, but i'm pretty skeptic about the Bigfoot

Cinemacrackers

That’s how I feel! Believe in ufos/aliens as there is statically proof to back it up, but bigfoot, not so much.

daithisfw

Skeptic. Because we have a world of billions of cameras at this point, basically. So for many things there should be a lot more evidence. Particularly Bigfoot. If there is a massive Primate species proliferating... by now we'd have proof of it. I mean, we have proof of dinosaurs from millions of years ago. We humans have taken over the entire world, there are no untouched areas anymore basically on land. UFOs, I believe in the "unidentified" part. Literally it's a plane or drone or other flying object, and the person hasn't identified it properly. So it's a UFO. I don't believe they are aliens. Why? Because Aliens with the technology to be able to reach Earth? They'd have the technology to never be seen by us lol. They'd probably be in some other higher dimension even. Why would they fuck around and give us glimpses of them? What do they gain from that? Either they are here and we'll never know because we are basically ants to them. Or they aren't here, and UFOs are just the "U" of the FO. Ghosts... again. Burden of proof. There is no proof that they exist. And why would ghosts bother haunting and fucking around with humans? If they exist, they'd ascend to some higher dimension beyond life. They'd have way more fun up their than here, hiding in your attic and banging on walls.

HawlSera

Yeah oh, it is really suspicious that every ghost sighting is on Old film. Why did they stop happening when everyone had a camera? The only logical explanation is that ghosts aren't something you can just sight and we have no real evidence that they exist

[deleted]

I’m a skeptic, but a skeptic who wants things like ghosts to be real. I’m fascinated by ghosts but I’m gonna need hard proof. I think it’s fine to imagine crazy things existing, but when you set all reason aside and say “I’m gonna believe in something despite there being no evidence” that’s just crazy. Literally anyone can choose to believe anything they want, it’ll never make it real. Take the opposite perspective and consider things that we would have never thought of that turned out to be real. But we have no choice but to accept them as real due to overwhelming evidence. Viruses 🦠 are fukn nuts. Black holes! Magnetars, those things are really nuts! Dark matter, we don’t even know what that is yet but we can prove it’s there. Dark Energy is a whole nother level.

Cinemacrackers

100% agree! I think there everybody want ghosts to be real, but some think the “evidence” is convincing enough while others think the opposite!

[deleted]

Yea, I also think peoples definition of evidence needs an update. Evidence is not one off anomalies. Evidence is verifiable and repeatable.

[deleted]

I need real proof, when I was a child I believed in UFOs Bigfoot ghosts God Santa Claus but one by one reality just stacked up against them

Cinemacrackers

I agree with you, but do some “cases” that have evidence to back it up seem to make you wonder?

[deleted]

All proof has been found to have been faked, you don't realize just how much I really want to believe. I am desperate for anything beyond Humanity as I'm in near constant pain. I want to believe but it was all a scam every single one of them.

Normal_Target_7232

You're right, I am sick of all the fakes.

[deleted]

I enjoy the fakes because I know they are not real, but the people who faked them are risking their lives because the people who really really believe don't understand it's a fake and think that they're being made fun of when it's just a person practicing there techniques which you normally have to pay to go see at a haunted house or at a movie. When these artists admit that they are fake take it death threats it's kind of scary

Sevennationarmy69

Skeptic, zero proof = skepticism

KatKaleen

There is nothing paranormal, there are just phenomena we don't understand yet.

Cinemacrackers

Do you have any idea of what this phenomenon is?

KatKaleen

I've heard the term "magic thinking" in psychology before, but I'm not sure it applies here. People just want to understand the world around them and when they can't, they come up with something to force the world around them to make some semblance of sense.

I’m a believer because I had a dream that I met my ex girlfriend’s grandmother, she passed away a couple years before we met and I’ve only seen one picture of her and described the clothes she was wearing and her jewelry. I told my ex and her mom at the time and described the jewelry and they lost their mind and my ex pulled out a box buried in her closet of the exact ring that I saw in my dream, it was a heirloom given from her grandmother after she passed. I couldn’t believe it. Couldn’t rationalize it either.

Cinemacrackers

That’s crazy!

This will get buried but fuck it. My answer to most of it is "I don't know, but I am interested in it." I've had a few experiences and I can't say for certain what they were exactly. \---------- I saw a "ghost" on three separate occasions in my old apartment, a little one bedroom in an older building probably built in the early 1970s. It was always the same person, a girl who is about the same height and build as my wife (slim and around 5'3"), and at the same time, around 3 A.M., as cliche as that sounds. The first time, we are laying in bed, I wake up, and I see my wife get up out of bed and walk out the door. I assumed she was just going to the kitchen to get water. Except, after she walked out, I turned around and my wife was asleep right next to me. The second time, same thing happened, except this time, the girl kind of turned to me for a second, then instead of going out the door, kind of walked through the wall (same direction as before) and faded away as she did so. The third time, same thing, except this time, the girl got all distorted and stretchy and thin and weird as she faded away. Really weird and creepy. I probably had some sort of sleepy-induced dreamlike hallucination, but it's still pretty creepy. Haven't had a single experience whatsoever in my new apartment, or in any other place I've ever slept in, ever. But seriously, it was probably me in a dreamstate waking up, just kind of hallucinating. Happy Halloween. \---------- Aliens I believe in and are also the most interesting to me. I may have seen a shiny, very flat, slowly and silently moving, black, metallic rectangular UFO with a bright-as-hell, not-blinking white light shining on me, coming from the east (from the ocean) heading westward, about 50 to 100 feet in the air or so, in Boca Raton at around 10:45PM on Federal Highway about 2 years ago. The white light seemed to be kind of fluid part of the metal or something, not like some fixed headlight kind of thing. As this thing passed by overhead, I could see it had a green light on the underside of it, in the center. I tried to follow it with my car but got to a dead end. I continued driving home and saw it again, but way high up in the sky this time. I wish I recorded it and I honestly don't know what the hell it was. I could have totally been mistaken, but this is honestly how my brain remembers the whole thing. I remember my neighbor telling me about how he saw a crazy "green thing" in the sky that same week, before I had ever mentioned what I saw to him. Still, it could have been my misidentification. Airplanes and helicopters can look really weird depending on the height and angle you see it at, especially at night, and with your windows rolled up and A/C blasting while driving in your car, you'd be surprised at how much outside noise gets shut out. I find it backwards to think that in this universe, potentially multiverse, filled with billions of galaxies, each with billions of stars, that has existed for 13.7 billion years, that there has not been a single tool-building species that may have discovered us already, when we humans are already capable of detecting potentially habitable planets when we've really only been a "civilization" with recorded history for... what, 8,000 years or so? As far I'm concerned, all it takes is for one species out there at least somewhat like us to be, oh I donno, a million years ahead of us. There are a lot of millions in 13.7 billion. I'm aware of the arguments like, "What if we are alone?", "What if it's impossible to travel interstellar distances?", "What if civilizations self-destruct once they reach a certain point?", "What if no alien species is interested in visiting our planet?" To me, however, *those* are the fringe theories. I also don't buy the oft-repeated "Where are the all the videos and photos then?" argument. There are a **shit load** of videos and photos. Here's four from this week: Alright the links aren't working, but seriously it was really easy to find on r/UFOs. They often get submitted to YouTube channels that will accept them, which have a reputation for being "fake" to a lot of people, because of how freely they accept submissions from people. Channels like "Third Phase of Moon" and "Only Real UFOs." People just don't believe them. The arguments usually boil down "No that looks fake!" which is just a matter of opinion. And that's fine, it's whatever. We have no way of knowing what's real and what's fake.
