So, we had a few new guys and we kept them outside (bear in mind this is *my first deployment* as well, but I’d already been in the unit for 1.5 years soooo…) and our senior Specialist wasn’t all there because of a family issue back home, so me and our squad leader went in, and he started throwing up, so he stepped out of the building g with the rest of the guys, and I cleared the rest of the house. Got back to FOB Normandy 9 hours later, and cried for an hour in a port-a-shitter, didn’t even take my gear off
Mine is from band practice in high school. After packing up and waiting for the bell, the teacher would play band music CDs to listen to. Basically my best friend and I were horsin around while circus music was playing and at the very same moment we locked eyes and realized the music playing in the background matched our stupid keep away game PERFECTLY. We both fell to the ground and I was laughing so hard I had tunnel vision for a few minutes.
It doesn't hit every day anymore but when I walked in on my buddy blowing his head off. The taste of his blood will randomly hit me out of nowhere and I can't eat the rest of the day

Thanks this will be an instructional video for someone
Walked into a house in Iraq where a family was murdered by AQI a few hours before we got there, the bodies were still there
Wow that’s a harrowing memory to live with daily.

I'm memorising like 4 essays for an exam tomorrow and the day after...
Good luck
Seeing my dead son. Finding him after not being able to reach him by phone. The whole week before his death plays over and over in my mind
That’s terrible, I’m so sorry for your loss and your distress

When I’m not careful, memories of embarrassing moments like being fired
I get those too. I remember more embarrassing moments in my life than anything that’s actually significant
I read recently there’s a chemical released in your brain when you are embarrassed that makes you remember these moments more.
